Where do I go?

Good food, lots of original cocktails, free wi-fi and yummy desserts! The Chocnut Valrhona cake is really good.
The music is always cool. They play lounge/house stuff, and on Fridays, M Cafe has a DJ. Nice place.
Only four years into its introduction, the Museum Café already has the benefit of recall that the mere mention of its name creates visual images of things jaded palates yearn for. Having retained its popularity, it can clearly be attributed to its great location within the bustling Makati business district.
The restaurant also continues to offer a mélange of remarkable cuisine, artistic sensibility and extraordinary service in a relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere.
There is great attention to detail, an innovative concept of evolving art, and a stimulating ambience. Its versatility to transform from a weekday business lunch crowd, to a family Sunday brunch setting, an events place, to an evening jazz bar and chillout spot, makes it more interesting.
But more than anything, M Café reaches great lengths in providing an absolute dining pleasure, and even more with the introduction of it’s all-new menu courtesy of Nurul Huda Bin Mohammed Radzi, the new Malaysian chef on board. The culinary influence he brings is certainly as sweeping as his global experience from Malaysia, Greece, the Carribeans, Egypt, Ireland, Ukraine, and Brunei among others.
Chef Nurul’s detail is apparent from the flavor, texture, and aroma to the visual composition on a plate. While retaining the modern Asian cuisine concept that M Cafe has been known for, he applies an innovative touch allowing diners to embark on a gustatory experience like no other.
This is evident in appetizers such as the Asian crab cakes, Roasted honey duck rolls, and the Sweet basil pork wonton pouches. It is also apparent in its entrees like the Grilled roasted tandoori spiced chicken, one of M Cafe’s line of oven roasted “naan” pizza; the Sour-sweet calamari chop chop in a wonton basket; and the Smoked bangus with salted egg in a lightly creamy dressing.
One can’t go wrong with the Grilled chili lemongrass-scented Australian lamb chops, one of M Cafe’s new signature entrees. Other good ones worth trying include the Sweet and sour whole baby
Lapu-Lapu for fish lovers, Honey BBQ roasted pandan chicken, the (full slab) Grilled sweet sesame Asian style baby back ribs, and the Imperial kung pao wok fried chicken among others.
Some may not be aware that M Café is also home of hard-core dessert lovers. Regulars drop by to either pick-up a pre-ordered cake or simply enjoy a quiet bite while having coffee or casual meetings with friends. Among the must-try cakes are the Jackfruit sanrival, Pandan cheesecake, Chocnut valrhona, Caramel chocolate and for the health-conscious, the Sugarfree carrot cake. Other bestselling treats for the sweet toothed include the Mango sticky rice, the Honey Dew melon with sago, and the very popular Crème brulee trio.
Indeed, M Café is all about imagination with its cuisine crafted by creativity. The mystery of its appeal and conscious success inevitably unfolds as one experiences dining in this sanctuary of art and form.
The Museum Café is located on the Ground Floor of the Ayala Museum’s Glass Wing in Greebelt 4, Makati City. It opens daily at 8am offering breakfast, lunch and dinner service until 12 midnight. Sunday brunch is from 11am to 3pm. Patio tables are available for seasonal dining al fresco, along with a full bar offering an array of coffee, tea, signature cocktails and an extensive list of wines. For reservations and more information, call (02) 757-3000 or 757-6000.
Been there last week, and I can say that the interiors/look is very neat and modern with a chic feel. Staffs are very attentive and nice. I ordered “the m” on their cocktail lists, and it impressed me a lot! Two thumbs up! It has a melon flavored in it. But their crab cakes turns me down. But overall, I’ll give them 4 star and I definitely will go back there.
we began our Easter celebration, excited after 3 days of abstinence from meat, by heading for M Cafe.
i have heard a lot of good reviews about this place, more so after winning the best brunch category in the Gold Spot and so, without batting and eyelash, i reserved a table a week before Easter just to make sure we would be seated.
this proved to be a good idea as majority of the tables were reserved when we got there.
i started my breakfast with yogurt, cheese and bread and then had a tomato, mushroom and cheese omelet made by the chef to pair with sausages. the omelet was cooked very well! it was fluffy and still moist in the middle and the added mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese complemented each other!
when that was gobbled up, i headed to the spanish cold cut plates for a refill. there were also grilled vegetables beside the platters that looked wonderful! i cannot name all the slices i got but they were all delicious!
the japanese table was next on my agenda. although i was disappointed that they did not have salmon sashimi, the maguro made up for it! it was so fresh, and the slices thick enough for that melt in your mouth sensation! yum!
oysters are always on our radar when eating at buffets and fortunately, majority of them offer this. the oyster platter at the M Cafe brunch buffet empties out fast. luckily, we were near the kitchen door so when a waiter came out with a tray, we were right behind him to get the most succulent of the batch! hahaha!
after our fill of our favorite mollusks, we headed to the chinese tables. there were crab cakes, calamari, vegetable tempura, crab cakes (ok i said that already!), shrimp hakao, soimai, sharks fin, and chicken shiitake. i had just gotten small pieces of each, as at this time, my jeans button was already screaming murder! hehehe!
there were more to taste: waffles, pasta, rib eye, baked salmon, filipino breakfast items like fried rice, tapa, and other chafing dishes i didnt dare to open anymore, less i had to be carried out of the restaurant from sheer fullness!
but i could not leave without dessert and this light taho seemed perfect for the already stuffed. hubby sampled their cakes and was satisfied…next time ill leave more room!
our scrumptious brunch culminated with a perfect cup of illy coffee
and as the easter bunny looked on, we sat and savored the pleasant ambiance, the courteous and efficient staff and delectable dishes we sampled.
Been there last night with my friends, actually its our 2nd time and I’ll keep coming back there for their cocktails. Their “the M” is the reason why I keep coming back there and for my future visits. It consists of vodka, pineapple juice and melon liqeur, it will hit you immediately coz of the high alcohol content. I also tried their Mojito, the presentation is nice but the taste, not my type, its not too minty. Then the Asian Daiquri strawberry flavor is also good. Their food menu is a selection of Asian fusion. Love their Pad Thai, very spicy but the servings is only good for one. We also order the Grilled Beef with roasted nut pizza, not something to rave about. Their Crab Cake, doesn’t meet my expectation, its like you eat mash potato, i hardly taste the crab. So I’ll just give 3 star for their food and 4.5 star for their cocktails. Staffs are very nice and attentive but they were lacking of marketing skills. They have a promo on their selection of drinks until 11 pm, which is two for one.
