Travel Café Philippines is a coffee shop that advertises the best of the Philippines literally and figuratively. Not only does it serve well-known native dishes and a wide array of original Filipino coffee blends, but it also has its own travel agency in a corner of its dining area to accommodate people who want to schedule tours to different islands and tourist spots of the Philippines.

A clean, cozy and tranquil environment greets every diner into this café that is conducive to business meetings, leisure dates, or “alone time” with a favorite book. Original Filipino music is played in the background and several books and maps on the Philippines are available on display and for sale. Decors are predominantly brown and gray in subdued tones.

The origins coffee consist of the best coffee beans originating from various parts of the Philippines that are of export quality, such as Mount Matutum, Cordillera Mountain, and Premium Barako. The beans are pressed in a coffee press served on the table, within the minutes of an hourglass timer, and accompanied by a small piece of wheat pandesal on the side. The coffee mugs are made of stoneware. Also available is the Alamid Coffee, one of the rarest and most expensive coffees in the world, which is rather sweet and smells very chocolatey. The House Blend is composed of Arabica and Robusta, which may be very strong but very rejuvenating. Cappuccino, café latte, café mocha, tsokolate drinks, fresh fruit shakes, and Travel Café’s signature iced tea in salabat or mango flavors are also available.

The signature appetizer is the Manila Barbeque Lettuce Wraps consisting of Chicken Barbeque in marinade and served with romaine lettuce hearts and green mango salsa. Spring rolls are also big on the menu, and comes in different variants. Soups, such as cream of clam, cream of tomato, and cream of monggo, are served in a pandesal bread bowl. Salads are composed of fresh greens from Trinidad, Baguio. There is also the chicken inasal salad that has fresh greens with grilled chicken fillet marinated in annatto oil and spices seasoned with soy dressing.

Entrée dishes range from adobo to pan-fried milkfish belly, to steamed bangus with tausi sauce, and beef tenderloin.

Pasta dishes include Linguini with Saranggani smoked fish, Penne with kaldereta meat sauce, Linguine with aligue sauce, and Fettuccini with lucban longaniza. Although the pasta may be overcooked, the sauces are richly flavorful and harmonious with the pasta, providing a dining experience that is unique and satisfying.

Sandwiches are composed of two large pieces of wheat pandesal with fillings of your choice, such as longaniza lucban and white cheese, menudo, beef tenderloin, tuna and smoked Saranggani fish, or adobo. A siding of sweet potato (camote) chips complements each sandwich.

For desserts, the halo halo is big enough for 2 to 4 persons. The dulce de leche panna cotta is recommended for those who crave for something light, something caramel sweet, and something unexpectedly luscious. It consists of light flan in caramel flavor with a small cradle of chocolate bits sitting underneath the martini glass set on a stoneware plate. The queso de bola cheesecake is also interesting especially because of the fresh strawberry topper, but not as memorable as the panna cotta. Suman and other native delicacies are also available.

Because of its very intriguing concept, Travel Café is a restaurant that every Filipino must patronize. With its delicious and ingenious selection of food and drinks, as well as its relaxing atmosphere and proud display of beautiful Filipino vacation venues, Travel Café encourages each diner that the Philippines is a beautiful and rich nation.
