Don’t you just love the smell of freshly-baked bread? I do. Pan de Manila’s pandesal are baked inside old-style brick ovens or “pugon”. Their small pandesal costs P3.00 each, while the big one costs P5.00. This is probably the best pandesal you could buy right now at P3.00 a piece, or was it P3.50? We couldn’t resist not buying their home-made spreads as well, like herb-garlic, butter-garlic and a bottle of Spanish sardines in tomato sauce. Instead of having rice that dinner time, we had pugon pandesal. The pandesal was soft but nevertheless filling. The spreads were all worth trying and buying. Though they don’t come in cheap (at P30+ for a very small plastic sauce container for the butter spreads and P80+ for a small bottle of sardines.)

Pan de Manila’s breads don’t have preservatives, artificial flavors or colors. They are what you call “healthy breads” since they are also bromate-free and trans-fat free allowing everyone to enjoy it any time of the day. Go, grab some now!
