10 Cheesy Political TV Ads

How to make cheesy (though memorable, we admit) political TV commercials: Start by butchering a classic or masa song and inserting the politician’s name every five seconds. Put in clips of underprivileged communities and unkempt kids. Add the quintessential waving, hugging and smiling. Spice it up with any of the following: a ridiculous dance, a cameo of the politician’s dead spouse/parent/any other relative, a pedicab or a bunch of celebrity endorsements. Garnish with the politician’s slogan or theme song and serve.

@Iya

grabe kailangan ba talagang i-judge at i-debase si Kris? Huwag ka ngang ganyan. Matalino at mabuting tao yun.

The point is, BAWAL PA MAGKAMPANYA. Puro lang naman informercial ang nandyan so star power is not inevitable.

Seriously, these politicians are trying to outdo each other in coming up with the cheesiest ads. A lot of people would find Mar’s “Padyak” ad the most cheesy, but it’s the ad, I believe, with the MOST recall. When it came out, people were talking about it. And months after it stopped airing people are still talking about it! I mean, who talks about Gibo’s TV ads?

The other TV ad people are talking about is that of Noynoy’s. “Ang daming artista, huh!”

Another is that of Manny Villar’s because of its frequency.

Election period in the Philippines is the mother of all popularity contests. With contestants, err candidates, promising almost the same things, it’s the name of the candidate on top of people’s minds that gets written on the ballot first.

I can’t believe Ja-ja-ja-jamby Madrigal’s commercial with Judy Ann Santos isn’t here.

d most cheezy 4 me ay ung presnt ad nina manny villar at chiz escudero…!

pulos pangako!
