Friday, May 11, 2012GMA News Online reports that the website of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) was replaced Wednesday afternoon, May 9, with a text message indicating it was hacked into by "Net user." "Hacked by Net user!... Just fun a fun!!" read the text message on the defaced page. The site was taken offline before 3 p.m. PAGASA advised visitors to its website to go to its alternate site (kidlat.pagasa.dost.gov.ph) for the meantime.
Thursday, May 10, 2012Inquirer.net reports that Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, using a mallet, literally smashed 15 “videokarera” (virtual horse racing) machines that were seized by authorities in Tondo, Pandacan, Sampaloc and Binondo last month. The report quoted Lim as saying that a videokarera machine “distracts the youth from their studies.” “The confiscation of the machines is an important accomplishment in our campaign against criminality,” he added.

The report said Tulfo “brought” his black eye to the Prosecutor’s Office as evidence.

Of the total violators, 480 are facing charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC 11) for violating the Republic Act 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
