After 30 years, Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad has reconnected with her biological father, former Banco Filipino Chairman Adolfo "Adi" Aguirre, PEP.ph reports. He last saw her when she was just three months old. 

In an interview with Paparazzi, Soledad said there was a time when she thought her father was already dead. "For the longest time, he and my mother had no communication." But now, Soledad said she has accepted what happened in the past. "Maybe everything happens at the right time." After their "very emotional and overwhelming" reunion, Soledad said "a part of (her) is whole again."

Though she grew up without Aguirre, Soledad said she had a lot of father figures such as her uncle Ramon Soledad and her stepfather "Papa Dan."

In the Paparazzi interview, Soledad also admitted that she still has to improve her hosting skills in Willing-Willie. She said she takes criticism constructively. "I believe that we cannot always please everybody."

Asked if there is any truth to the rumors linking her to co-host Willie Revillame, she quipped, "Basta kami po, nag-i-stick lang sa sinabi niyang huwag daw po akong mai-in love sa kanya! (He told me not to fall in love with him, and I'm sticking to that!)" She said, "Willie is very professional. I'm looking forward to having a good and professional relationship with him."

Soledad evaded a question implying her past relationship with President Noynoy Aquino. Asked how her heart is these days, she said, "Happy because TV-5 is a happy network."
