Manila Standard Today reports that the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP) said it is "currently negotiating with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Francis Tolentino so they could meet on a middle ground as far as billboard size is concerned."
The report quoted OAAP Chairman Jose Valle, who reevaled that "they are proposing to the MMDA that the uniform size of new and existing billboards should be 40 x 60 feet [225 square meters], not the 20 x 40 feet [80 to 100 square meters] the MMDA is suggesting."
In a letter to Tolentino, Valle pointed out: "We firmly believe that the billboard size [area] of 80 to 100 square meters is too small for the advertisers to consider. It is possible that they will shift to other forms of media and because of this most outdoor companies will close shop."
