Dutch film Lilet Never Happened tackles child prostitution in PH, StarStruck Kids alumna Sandy Talag in title role

Lilet Never Happened was shot in the Philippines.

 

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Dutch filmmaker Jacco Groen has shot a movie about child prostitution in the Philippines. The movie, Lilet Never Happened, stars child actress Sandy Talag. As it turns out, Talag was once a contestant on GMA-7's reality talent search StarStruck Kids. Actor John Arcilla is also part of the cast.

 

The ABS-CBNNews.com report noted: "The film already won the Best Scenario Drama award in Los Angeles Film festival in 2009.  They are now looking for distributors in the Philippines. The producers are hoping to release the film in the Netherlands in the first quarter of this year."

    There were films that tackled this issue, the important thing to do now is to condemn and prevent this or any other situations, events similar to this from happening. Government officials can help a lot but as individuals, we can contribute so much as well. It will depend on our being sensitive about it and sincere in changing what needs to be changed one step at a time.

    It's not only Pinoys who turn a blind eye to this. It's still going on worldwide. It would help if some politicians would start to think of how to do something about it together. The lives of those children are destroyed forever.

    It took a foreign film outfit to tackle a social ill that many Pinoys turn a blind eye to, worse, are INDIFFERENT of. And we still run that weekly gay film festival at that cineplex in Ortigas?! Tell me, what are our so-called indies hope to achieve?? There's not a dearth of material out there yet they milk the gay lifestyle till its bone dry! It only means two words: SELL-OUT.
