Never mind if there are rumors going around that boxer-lawmaker Manny Pacquiaon is a ladies' man. There's at least one group of people who believe that he can be trusted with a "holy" task—the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

Agence France-Presse (AFP)—CBCP Bible ministry head Bishop Pablo Virgilio David—reports that "church leaders had approached Pacquiao with the idea, but [had not yet] received feedback from the 32-year-old fighter." David said, "We asked him to partner with us in promoting the reading of the Bible among Catholics. We told him: 'You would be a big help to us brother Manny', but he has not pledged his partnership yet."

David added that Pacquiao could "follow the example of the Philippine-born National Football League star Tebow, a devout Christian dubbed by some in the press as 'God's quarterback.'"

Last month, Pacquiao, in the ANC special, The Pacman, announced that he had given up his vices because he has "found God" and had become sa renewed Christian. When asked how he defined being a Christian, Pacquiao had replied, "Christian kasi pag inalis mo yung 'Christ,' I, A, N na lang natira, [ibig sabihin] 'I am nothing.' (Christan because if you remove 'Christ,' you're left with I-A-N, which stands for 'I am nothing.'"
