HOLY KETTLE CORN
Bestseller: Original flavor popcorn (starts at P30)
Food cart appeal: Great-tasting popcorn without the butter and preservatives

The first stall in Alabang Town Center in 2004 attracted even the north dwellers, with its promise of MSG, butter-free popcorn. Made with natural sweeteners such as molasses, honey and sugar, Holy Kettle Corn was soon popping bag after bag with more carts and kiosks all over the city with light, fresh and sweet-tasting popcorn.

KINGCORN
Bestseller: Shredded corn with butter or cheese (P28)
Food cart appeal: Quick corn snacks at less than P30

Open since 1992, Kingcorn stalls offer both corn on the cob (starts at P22) and shredded corn kernels flavored with salt, butter and the optional cheese powder (P28). Simple snacks that still appeal to corn-loving Pinoys, Kingcorn now also serves popcorn in their carts all over Manila.

These food kiosk are all good. Just to comment on the service of Fruitas stall at Trinoma,I am very much frustrated on an incident where I would buy for Buko shake, the crew told me that it's not available but when somebody approcahed to buy the same I want,he was able to provide one. Very frustrating & disappointing or the crew is "tinatamad na" during the time I'm his customer.

  • FoodTripper Jul 11 2010 @ 11:41pm Report Abuse
Pao Tsin, Waffle Time, Potato Corner & Fruitas is part of my list too. Although, I can't believe that Odd Balls isn't included!

I think that Zagu, Quickly, Empanada Royale, Shawarma (any company), Pizza Pedrico's & Dr. Kwek Kwek should be part of the list. But yeah... that would make it too long eh? :P
  • foodgrab Jul 09 2010 @ 05:00pm Report Abuse
i love siopao so i recommend pao express!
    delicious asado and chicken supreme.

  • bridget Jul 05 2010 @ 05:40pm Report Abuse
waffle time is so cheap and very convenient for hungry people on the go..zagu is very popular here in Davao should be included in the list..wish Paotsin would have a branch/franchise here in Davao

  • jamby Jul 04 2010 @ 09:24pm Report Abuse
Siomai house, potato corner, palto wraps are included in my lists. However,i believe shawarma,Zagu or Thristy should also be part of their pick.

I love Monster Balls at Tropical Hut Taytay
  • jemmanuel Jun 24 2010 @ 06:12pm Report Abuse
i love the japanese siomai of Master Siomai than Siomai House! d;)
  • Manang Jun 21 2010 @ 07:39pm Report Abuse
IMO, the Siomai House siomai is "meatier" too! And Potato Corner fries in sour cream!

What about Icebreaker? Their scrambles super yummy; I think they're the first to offer scrambles in malls. I love scrambles! I have done the rounds in tasting the scrambles from different food carts, and Icebreaker still has the best taste of them all.
  • dianne Jun 18 2010 @ 06:49pm Report Abuse
hay, nagutom tuloy ako. gusto ko lahat yan!!! i miss home :(
  • monks_abbey Jun 16 2010 @ 09:51pm Report Abuse
siomai house has good pricing and quality control, best bang for the buck at 25 pesos a pop...their service is efficient too, most outlets i see can serve a long queue as quickly as any other chain, they have it all figured out... bibingkinitan i rarely patronize, but i admire the chain, clever idea to bring the scent of simbang gabi in the malls all year round, can't help but look in their stall's direction once you catch a whiff....
  • Michelle Jun 14 2010 @ 09:52pm Report Abuse
    I love Siomai House!
  • summerinparis Jun 14 2010 @ 08:02am Report Abuse
i love and buy food in all the food carts in the list.haha.takaw!
  • street urchin Jun 13 2010 @ 12:45pm Report Abuse
ZAGU and QUICKLY not good enough to make the cut? And yet you have the likes of KINGCORN here? Really now.
  • wawawiwaw Jun 12 2010 @ 07:14pm Report Abuse
    No SHAWARMA??
  • wendy Jun 12 2010 @ 07:57am Report Abuse
i guess country style is way too overpriced. and the hongkong style noodle tastes so bad.
  • bigbaby Jun 11 2010 @ 10:46pm Report Abuse
I just noticed walang mga fishballs/squidballs food cart on the list. Yun kaya yung mga popular food carts. I think the best right now is POTDOG. Sarap ng lobster ball with sweet and chilli sauce!
  • julia_25 Jun 11 2010 @ 09:00pm Report Abuse
roli's napoleones are so divine. i so loved it when i got the chance to taste it. and also jamaican patties.
  • anonymous Jun 11 2010 @ 07:25pm Report Abuse
@Bok, you're right! I also think that Master Siomai must be on the list because they have three flavors for the customers to choose from which Siomai House does not have.

They also must have included Empanada Royale, I love their Empanadas, and Balut Express, I love their kwek-kwek so much.
  • Lea :) Jun 11 2010 @ 07:13pm Report Abuse
Siomai house! Waffle time! Kingcorn! Paotsin! Suki ako ng mga yan! Hahaha :D
  • Bok Jun 11 2010 @ 07:04pm Report Abuse
I think Master Siomai is better than Siomai House.
  • hungryaleks Jun 11 2010 @ 06:48pm Report Abuse
The ham 'n cheese empanada from Empanada Royale, siomai & black gulaman from Siomai House, kwek-kwek from Balut Express, and TJ hotdogs from Purefoods are my favorites!
  • u8mypinkcookies Jun 11 2010 @ 05:33pm Report Abuse
I love Holy Kettle Corn! :D and yes, Country Style should be here too.. so yummy!! :D

I hope they include stalls like Dolor's Kakanin and Jamaican Patties too :D

I have to try PaoTsin's steamed dumplings.. I used to like Plato Wraps before, but dunno if it's still the same til now.
  • jopay Jun 11 2010 @ 05:10pm Report Abuse
ung mga hinahanp nio kasi pagn number 11 at 15 kaya wala xa sa top 10 list lol...
  • geng Jun 11 2010 @ 04:01pm Report Abuse
overpriced na nga ang plato wraps.
  • anonymous Jun 11 2010 @ 02:20pm Report Abuse
They should have not included Holy Kettle Corn and Fruitas. Holy Kettle Corn is way too overpriced and not that good. Kettle Korn is tastes better and has a cheaper price. Fruitas is also overpriced and gives me a brain freeze.

@thinkingoutloud, Sisig Hooray is not included there because some of there outlets are NOT on carts, and their price starts at around Php50.00, higher than Plato Wraps. Country Style is not also there because some of their outlets are really in a space that is big enough. Roli's Napoleones is not included because it is not common to everyone in the city(including me). It was the first time that I heard that store.

They should have included Shawarma(any brand), Zagu, Black Pearl, Orbitz, Jamaican Patty, and Pizza Pedrico's
  • Rene Jun 11 2010 @ 12:49pm Report Abuse
Turks Shawarma at SM Food Court is better.. And PIZZA PEDRICO's has nice, cheap pizzas....
  • consiglieri Jun 11 2010 @ 10:29am Report Abuse
hey,I just noticed that Zagu isn't on the list. What gives?Frutas makes it and Zagu doesn't?Wow,holy oversights batman.
  • consiglieri Jun 11 2010 @ 10:26am Report Abuse
Siomai house's gulaman used to be just 8pesos,I'm still bitter about that.Overall,it's cheap, efficient and filling.
  • ojou Jun 11 2010 @ 09:03am Report Abuse
babba shawarma is the best! waffle time tastes bland. plato wraps is good but overpriced.
  • thinkingoutloud Jun 11 2010 @ 08:54am Report Abuse
shouldn't these be called food stalls? there are no wheels on them. just sayin' and why isn't sisig hooray here? country style? roli's napoleones?
