This casual Italian spot at the ritzy Newport Mall attracts a mixed crowd: executives and hotel guests on weekdays, families on weekends, and the pre-night out crowd going for a quick bite before a casino run or a night of dancing on Saturday nights. A quick peek at the food on their tables all reveal at least one pasta dish or an order of pizza, both of which are Parmigiano's specialties.
The kitchen churns out pasta dishes that skew on the familiar with carbonara, pomodoro, and salsiccia on the menu and the wait for the brick oven-cooked pizzas is worth it. "The pizza dough is made from scratch, and the ingredients are always fresh," shares Kate Paredes, Parmigiano's marketing manager. Crowd favorites include the Quattro Formaggi (P395), with parmesan, mozzarella, gorgonzola and pecorino cheese, and the Gamberetti con Rucola (P425), topped with fresh, slightly bitter arugula and savory shrimp. Dishes are good for sharing and encourage family-style dining.
Parmigiano will soon have cocktails on the menu for fans of after-dinner drinking.
