( A sprawling rooftop bar with comfy couches, cocktail tables--each with its own beverage tub to hold your bottles of bubbly or beer, and steady beats to accompany sunset drinks and tapas. Yes, you're still in Manila.


The Skye Lounge at the roof deck level of the W Building near Bonifacio High Street, The Fort, attracts a laidback, after-hours drinking crowd who has seen enough of the usual loud, jostle-your-way-to-the-bar club scene. A short ride on the exclusive elevator brings you to the rooftop bar and Skye Lounge's indoor dining area. Doors open to the outdoor open deck with sweeping views of the Fort Bonifacio skyline and seats of your choice: there are taller cocktail tables and cushioned lounge chairs or you can park yourself by the bar where you can have the bartender's full attention.


Tasty nibbles are served in brightly colored plates and are a perfect match to your drinks: get the palate-teasing spicy gambas cooked in crab fat, the cheesy Oyster Rockefeller and the reliable croquetas. The menu is limited to tapas for now, shares Skye Lounge's Abba Maramba, but the kitchen accommodates advance notices for paella, callos, and chicken Iberico.


The deck takes on a totally different atmosphere come sundown: the casual upscale bar gets lit up by subdued lights. Says Maramba, "We're thinking of doing weekend barbecues so people who live in condos actually have a place to grill their meat and just chill out. We don't have a lot of these places in Manila." He adds, "This spot will be a great place to ring in the New Year."

    For those interested their real number is: 024784282 Bad PR/Com job from them though as they have no website/fb page or even proper contact number on internet... I however like the place!

    Was there with a group of 3 last Friday; view is nice but the food is pure banditry - everything is pricey & chichi; the waiters & servers who attended to us have absolutely no idea about what they are serving on the plate or in the glass, the latter priced 5 times wine shop tags. One waiter predictably broke the cork while opening a 2nd Chardonnay bottle, came back & insisted we take the bottle coz it was fine, until one of us put the same bottle against his flashlight & showed all the floating cork bits inside it. After 3 bottles of Chilean Chardonnay & 4 plates of tapas, the bill came up to P7,600, which took the cashier all of 30 minutes to produce an official receipt, only because we threatened to tell BIR without it. Dear Trixie, if you price your food & drinks high, please match it with the corresponding service competence, as seasoned diners like me & colleagues will your place with a sour taste in our mouths.
