Hahaha! That's exactly what I had in mind for Marian Rivera... she's super nice to look at, but once she opens her mouth... uh-oh! rn
  • garfield Jul 16 2010 @ 05:13pm Report Abuse
loled at Marian's.. hahaha.. as a showbiz personality, Marian should take criticism in a good way..She should try harder next time. peace out!

Marian is a disgrace to the La Sallian Community. To think she came from a branch of La Salle bakit ganyan siya magsalita? walang ka poise poise.. argh!

    I agree with Liz.

    *sigh*

talk about crab mentality. mga tao nga naman. talagang hahanapan ng mali yung mga taong nakaka-angat just tomake themselves feel better. LMAO.

Well, cursing does not equate to intelligence either. You guys, still has the "mental coloniality" that the previous generation. Substance is in how you take it. It also does not mean that if you are "mahinhin" you are regal and poise. Life is so good, we should enjoy it, Marian has the childlike and free spirit disposition, we should emulate it. It gives us the hope to withstand whatever life brings us. Loosen up "kolehiyalas" and wannabes.

The fact that people defend the st*p*dity that Mmes. Kris Aquino, Marian Rivera, Carla Abellana and other mutant "artistas" (who have the power of multi-location through billboards as Star's RJ Ledesma put it) gives us a good idea as to how disturbingly low our standards for entertainment are. We do not, at all, disdain the "bakya" type entertainment, but SUBSTANCE PLEASE! For f*ck's sake, Gloria Romero in her hayday acts more "maharot" than these distressing denizens yet her movements and statements remain graceful and regal on and off screen.

Hayden Kho: a bigger tool LOL

it's not even an issue of the WAY Marian says it. it is WHAT she has to say. It is understandable that her English has its rough edges, but come on, you know she lacks substance. The pronunciation and enunciation, John Robert Powers or Berlitz can correct, but the substance is based on her intellect (or apparent lack of it). That not only goes for Marian but for all those artistas who always say "sobrang nakaka-proud", "super flattered" whenever given a project. They can't even express themselves properly. TSK.

    It's Salma Hayek not Hayik.
  • Liz Dec 21 2009 @ 01:15am Report Abuse
I don't hear anything wrong in the way Marian says "beautiful", maybe because i am a probinsyana too, so we don't hear the fake "american valley girl" that sosyaleras in Assumptions are known for. I live overseas now and people find "foreign accents" so exotic, it is now passe' to mimick exactly the American twang. I like the way she is, really Filipina, afterall, we are watching a "Filipino" commercial, right? Have you seen and heard Antonio Banderas, Selma Hayik and others? They're as intelligent if not, than those who have American twang and "valley girl accents". Stop equating having a regional accent with intelligence and stop shortchanging Filipinos as inferior to the Americans because they can speak perfect English, believe me they don't! The only we can uplift ourselves is to believe in ourselves.

had marian rivera possess a different pretty face, would she be subjected to the critic that she has a speech (pronounciation) problem? i think its just that she has a pretty and foreign looking face that makes one think differently when she's heard speaking...
  • hanna Dec 19 2009 @ 09:26pm Report Abuse
yup i agree marian is beautiful but then again in this world you just dont need beauty to survive, KC has it all sayang nga ang ganda ni aling marian.boba pala

  • anne Dec 17 2009 @ 11:30am Report Abuse
the kris aquino gift was really funny. sobrang ingay at nonsense na minsan. and with marian, with all the money she have. kailangan nya mag aral ng speech at personality development. bakya kasi sumagot.paulit ulit na lang sinasabi nya.
