Stars Come in Full Force to 10th Anniversary Party of YES!

Published: Feb 24, 2010 - 8:17pm

To celebrate 10 years as the country's No.1 entertainment title, YES! magazine held its biggest anniversary party ever on February 23 at the NBC Tent. Over a thousand guests comprised of celebrities, advertisers, and the media were welcomed by the YES! team led by editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon. Since its first issue in April 2000, YES! Magazine has grown to be the Filipinos' most trusted entertainment magazine, giving its readers in-depth exclusives and photos of local celebrities that allowed the fans to really get to know their favorite stars.

After a message from Summit Media president Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng who gave a tribute to the late starmaker Douglas Quijano, who was the editorial consultant of YES! since its maiden issue, and a celebratory toast led by JG Summit Holdings, Co. president & COO Lance Gokongwei, the party was in full swing. Guests enjoyed stellar performances by La Diva, Bituin Escalante, Jed Madela, and Rhap Salazar. Later, the stars themselves took the stage for a jamming session led by Tirso Cruz III and Ricky Davao. Ogie Alcasid, Jay-R, Kris Lawrence, Carla Humphries and Chris Cayzer gamely obliged the audience with impromptu song numbers. Top restaurateur Margarita Fores provided the modern Filipino food and decor.

In full force were siblings Richard, Ruffa and Raymond Gutierrez.           Photos by Girlie Rodis and Melo Balingit.

Spotted at the YES! party were network executives Charo Santos-Concio, Cory Vidanes, Felipe Gozon, Annette Abrogar, and Wilma Galvante; couples Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach, Dawn Zulueta and Cong. Anton Lagdameo, Ciara Sotto and Joe Oconer, Jolina Magdangal and Marc Escueta, and Eula Valdes and boyfriend Rocky Salumbides; the Eat Bulaga gang of Ruby Rodriguez, Pauleen Luna, Julia Clarete, Pia Guanio and Roderick Paulate; SOP mainstays Kyla, Jay-R, and Ogie Alcasid, directors Bert de Leon, Bb. Joyce Bernal, and Bibeth Orteza, and veteran actor Eddie Garcia.

The entrance of Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama and their children Ruffa, Richard, and Raymond, and their subsequent offering of congratulations to Jo-Ann Maglipon just two weeks after their reconciliation caused quite a commotion amongst the paparazzi. The night was also a showbiz family affair as Lani Mercado and Lorna Tolentino came with their sons Bryan and Rap, respectively. Kuh Ledesma was also with daughter Isabella, but "Mommy" Carol was spotted without Judy Ann Santos. Gina Alajar, Geoff Eigenmann, and Gabby Eigenmann also made it to the event.

Arriving solo that night were Dingdong Dantes, Jake Cuenca, Assunta de Rossi, Miriam Quiambao, Donita Rose, Carla Abellana, Iza Calzado, Isabel Oli, Kris Bernal, Maxene Magalona, Bubbles Paraiso, Angel Locsin, Carla Humphries, Michelle Madrigal, Yna Asistio, AJ Perez, Wendell Ramos, and Bangs Garcia.

Also spotted were Maggie Wilson, Phoemela Barranda, Bayani Agbayani, Paolo Bediones, Cooky Chua, Snooky Serna, Viktoria, Rachel Alejandro, Jobelle Salvador, Nonito Donaire, Wyngard Tracy, Pops Fernandez, Lotlot de Leon, Ana Roces, Tim Yap, and Dr. Vicki Belo.

The arrivals of KC Concepcion and Gretchen Barretto created quite a stir later that night, and John Lloyd Cruz made it a point to drop by after the premiere night of his movie Miss You Like Crazy as the YES! party stretched into the wee hours of the morning.

While the number one entertainment magazine in the country has set many records in the past ten years, YES! is setting its sights on a bright future. "YES! will continue to remain abreast with what's happening in the local entertainment scene and strive to give our readers exclusive stories that they will see only in our pages. We are also coming out with two special bookazines this year—“the YES! 100 Most Beautiful Celebrities Vol. 4 and YES! House Special  Vol. 4," shares Danio Caw, team publisher of YES! Magazine.

Excuse me Elvis. Hindi nagsorry ang PEP. Etching lang yun. Walang public apologies. Dahil walang kasalanan ang Yes at PEP. Dahil ngayon, mas kailangan nila ang YES kaya nakiki sawsaw sila. At higit sa lahat wala na silang perang pang demanda. Hindi nila kayang tapatan ang YES. Basta mga baduy ang mga Gutierrez. Mga Baduy. At mga taga Vientiane, LAOS na sila.
