Taste this: Blue Ketchup is under Soupstar Entertainment Inc., which also handles two other "food bands" in this list, Sandwich and Protein Shake.

The band versus the food: With melodies cool as the color blue, Blue Ketchup adds flavor to the local music industry with its mix of pop and bossa nova.

    What about PINIKPIKAN??? rnIt is obviously a food (chicken dish from the Cordillera). Nothing can be more filipino than PINIKPIKAN. But of course it is always ignored because it has never been in the mainstream....

    Makopa - a band formed in UP Diliman composed of members from the UP Music Circle. Although they have separate careers today (lead vocalist is a teacher in Brent, bassist is a preschool teacher in Gymboree, keyboardist is a licensed physician, drummer is a computer engineer and lead guitarist is a lawyer), they still find time to get together and play once in a while.

    Footlong - a band from UP Manila and Diliman but all came from Quezon City Science High School..they play a mix of funk and alternative music and had some good original songs.

    Technically, Live Tilapia and The Purplechickens are bands named after animals. Why? Kasi those animals are still alive. Live Tilapia isn't in its food state yet. Take, for example, The Porkchop Duo. Hindi naman Pig yung reference sa name nila kundi Porkchop. So cooked or ready to cook na. Hehehe. All the food bands on this list refer to processed food, condiments, drinks, fruits, and other ready to cook/cooked stuff. (Yes, I am a proud nerd.)

    Garlic - a side project of Francis Brew Reyes, Louie Talan (Razorback) and Zach Lucero (Imago).

    Chocolate Beef - a five-piece band from the College of Fine Arts, UP. They had their first album during the late 90s.

    Apple Orchard - an indiepop band based in the US, composed of brothers Ryan and Dale Marquez (from Sonnet LVIII).

    Candyaudioline - a five piece band playing shoegaze and dream pop. They have been around since 1997.

    The Purplechickens - another band from UP, plays indierock. They released their debut album Here's Plan B in 2003

    Scrambled Eggs - one of Cebu's popular bands, with Jay-R Siaboc as the vocalist
