Solid Usher fans, rejoice! The long wait is over as he performs live this Friday, July 9 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Though Raymond Usher IV, a.k.a. the "King of R&B" has been topping the music charts for years (Billboard ranked Usher the Number One Hot 100 artist of the 2000s decade), this is his first time in Asia. Manila is the third stop on his Asian tour (first stop was Seoul, South Korea on July 3, then Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 7).
As much as "O.M.G." has been a favorite hit this year, there are old-school and not-so-old-school Usher beats that die-hards will surely await and seriously pray for Usher to sing come Friday night. SPOT.ph lists 10 of his most-loved Usher songs (in no particular order) that make us all keep our fingers crossed in dire anticipation:
1."You Make Me Wanna." From Usher's second studio album, My Way, that skyrocketed his career. He made a statement with this song, telling women that guys get confused about love, too (and can sing about it for all to hear).
2."U Got it Bad." With the release of this song in 2001, Usher further proved his versatility as an R&B artist. He rocked both the upbeat tunes and the slow jams.
3."Nice and Slow." Sweet and sexy is how Usher does it with this languidly lusty song.
4."U Remind Me." Okay, maybe the pick-up line is lame, but who can forget those slick moves? The signature Usher move "slide and glide" does the trick.
5."Love in this Club." This tune totally became an anthem in clubs all over town. A little too scandalous for some, but you got to admit it's LSS-worthy.
