Aling Tonya’s is included in these restaurants that serve fresh seafood dishes cooked their signature way. You have the option of buying your own seafood or meat from the nearby wet market and have them cook the dish for you.
The sinigang na salmon belly sa miso, a great dish with fresh salmon belly from the wet market, is a good start to a sumptuous meal. You may also try the clam soup (“halaanâ€) which uses the typical recipe, but because of the freshness of the clams, the ordinary tastes extraordinary.
A must try dish for Aling Tonya’s is the adobong pusit. The fresh squid, cooked in squid ink with adobo ingredients and butter, pepper, onions, and other spices, make this dish truly memorable. It does not taste too much of the vinegar but more of the sweetness of the squid with a hint of spice.
The jumping shrimps may be cooked with the signature special spicy garlic and butter sauce or with just plain Seven-Up soda.
Other dishes can be ordered from the menu, including inihaw na liempo, calamares, pork barbecue, and grilled chicken.
The restaurant along Macapagal Boulevard is very clean, with modern woodcraft design and cozy decors. Surprisingly, the smell of the wet market does not venture into the restaurant itself. Service is very courteous and efficient.
There are two restaurants along San Miguel by the Bay near Mall of Asia and both have a view of Manila Bay and karaoke facilities for the avid singer. One of these places is quite small, but cleanliness is maintained pretty well. The other place can accommodate more people and is better on the aesthetics of the interiors. There are different cooks manning these restaurants, so it is up to you to pick the one who cooks the better meals.
The restaurant in Ortigas Town Center is not as polished as its counterparts in Pasay City, but serves the best-tasting dishes using the freshest ingredients. It is highly recommended that your food be ordered from this branch. They have the best cook.
Food may be pre-ordered for pick-up or dine-in for your convenience. Contact (632)854-4564/852-3792 for Baclaran main office (they deliver); or (632)914-0269 for Ortigas Town Center, Julia Vargas Ave., Pasig City; or (632)556-1781 for Macapagal Blvd., Pasay City, or (632)710-0260 for Mall of Asia restaurants.
