Host-actress Ruffa Gutierrez neither denied nor confirmed rumors that she is dating Smartmatic Asia Pacific President, Cesar Flores, reports ABS-CBNNews.com. Asked by ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual, she said with a laugh, "How did you find out?"
Describing the man who had defended the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines, she said, "He is really endearing. He always texts me. Umalis nga siya kagabi pero babalik din. Alam ko talaga schedule niya. And what's more important, [he's] very much single."
According to TV producer and Twitter user Garlic Garcia, Gutierrez' mother Annabelle Rama "half-grilled" Flores at Gutierrez' birthday dinner on July 8. Gutierrez and Flores, both 36 years old, also had a photo taken together that Garcia posted on Twitter. The Venezuelan Flores tweeted, "Enjoying fine company at Ruffa Gutierrez' birthday dinner!" To which Gutierrez replied, "Had a blast! Thank u for joining us! :)"
Gutierrez was last linked to actor John Lloyd Cruz, who admitted their previous "special relationship" during the same interview he finally admitted actress Shaina Magdayo is his girlfriend.
In an interview with GMANews.tv published June 9, Flores said he has no time for relationships. "I've been on different dates but when it's time to follow up, it's hard to follow up. The first thing I tell anyone is, 'You know I'm very busy, so please bear with me. Don't take it the wrong way'... I've developed work-related patience, but relationships suffer."
According to GMANews.TV, Flores has personally observed 10 automated elections all over the world, including the Philippines'. He studied Economics at the Munich and Augsburg Universities in Germany.
But before she left the country she was asked if she is en-route to Venezuela where her rumored suitor and textmate is living, Smartmatic executive Cesar Flores. All she could answer was a very big smile and said “I’ll keep you posted”.
DJ Mo, her co-host in “Paparazzi” says that, based on text messages he read on Ruffa’s phone, Cesar wants Ruffa to meet his parents, and that they’re planning to go to the beach.
Is their status as text mates has developed into something more intimate?
