Host-actress Kris Aquino told PEP.ph that rumors of her pregnancy are "hilariously vicious." Aquino, who is on vacation in the United States with her two sons, explained in a text message, "Just had my period on July 18 in Orlando and had it until we were in Boston... I will answer all issues being thrown my way on Friday [July 30] upon arrival at 4 a.m."

In the PEP.ph report, Aquino's manager Deo Edrinal said the rumors might have come from Aquino's visit to her OB-Gyne a week before she left for the United States. Aquino's friend and TV host Boy Abunda said she had to get tested for the virus that causes cervical cancer, as stipulated in a contract for the duo's new anti-cervical cancer advocacy commercial. The results came out negative. Also confirming Aquino's statement, her OB-Gyne Dr. Greg Pastorfide said she was given her first shot of cervical cancer vaccine, which cannot be administered to pregnant women, before she left for the U.S.

Abunda told PEP.ph, "Kris cannot get pregnant again because when she had Baby James [her second child], she had pulmonary embolism, which puts her at a high risk of losing her life during a pregnancy."

Rumors of Aquino's pregnancy escalated when entertainment website Stir.ph reported on July 28 that a "reliable source" confirmed her pregnancy. Later, Stir.ph reported, "According to Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino had her monthly period last July 15!"

In an interview with 24 Oras, Aquino's sister Pinky said Aquino is "hurting inside." She said Aquino is trying to shield her two sons, Joshua and Baby James, from her marital problems with James Yap. Her lawyers had said she would file a petition for the declaration of nullity of their marriage once she gets back.
