You've got only about a month left to register for the 2010 elections. Have your say in who our country's leaders should be and head to your locality's COMELEC office on or before October 31.

In the aftermath of typhoon Ondoy, the Commission on Elections announced on September 28 that voter registration in Pasig's first and second districts, Taguig and Muntinlupa are temporarily on hold. A representative from the National Capital Region COMELEC office told SPOT.ph on September 30 that Taguig registration resumed using satellite registration at Market Market! and Muntinlupa registration was relocated to the Alabang Public Market. Pasig registration is still on hold since passageways to their COMELEC office are submerged.

As of July, there are 2.7 million new voters and a total of 45,487,634 voters, reported Inquirer.net. Not on the list? Add yourself to the tally with SPOT.ph's election registration guide.

    Crabbypatty :

If you mean "Raul Roco",Well,He ran for President during the 2004 Presidential Elections.

Anyways,Another tip : Since this is the Last Week of registration,Expect that Most People would stay at The registration Precincts OVERNIGHT [Yes,I'm so serious about it,We've experienced it before!] so You should get there at as early as 3:00 AM. [And I'm not joking...]By experience,The COMELEC people choose only the first 500 People from the line,They put Numbers onto the Photocopied Requirements.

On October 31,The Registration will be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 of Midnight To accommodate all the people who want to register.

    Help!

I need some clarification about the process of reactivating my reg in comelec. I was deactivated by the comelec "for failure to vote in two (2) successive regular elections".

    1. Where do I get the yellow form (document CEF-1C)?

    2. Who (chairman of the board) should sign it?

    3. What do I do after this? How do I check if my request is approved by the Comelec?

    Thank you in advance.

Would you know where I can register in Taguig City?
  • SPOT.ph Oct 15 2009 @ 04:31pm Report Abuse
Hi, heide. Since you voted in 2004, your registration status may still be active.

Your registration status can be deactivated if you didn’t vote in the last two elections or you lost your Filipino citizenship. A deactivated status can also be because you were imprisoned for more than one year, declared insane or incompetent by the authorities, or convicted of any crime against national security and of disloyalty to the government.

You can use the online registration verification of COMELEC (http://www.comelec.gov.ph/findprecinct/findprecinct.aspx) to check your registration status and assigned precinct.

    Hi aby,

    FOR FIRST-TIME VOTERS

What to bring: A valid ID (passport, company ID, school ID, NBI clearance, senior citizen’s ID, driver’s license, SSS/GSIS ID, etc.) with your picture and address, photocopies of the front and back of your ID and a pen.

Where to go: Call or visit your barangay hall and ask which COMELEC office you should go to. Your parents and neighbors might also know.

When to go: COMELEC offices are open Mondays to Saturdays including holidays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

I am a new voter and I don't know the process on how to register. Is it necessary to have an ID with my current address before I can register? What if I don't have one? What should I bring to COMELEC? I'd appreciate a reply. :)

  • SPOT.ph Oct 06 2009 @ 04:52pm Report Abuse
    Hi Mabhel,

According to COMELEC NCR (527-9624), you can register using your current address. Just bring a valid ID with your picture and address to your local COMELEC office. No need to go to your province. Also, you don't need a baranggay clearance to register.

    Hope this helped. :)

    Hi, Normel,

According to the COMELEC website, you have to be (1) a Filipino citizen and (2) a resident of the Philippines for one year and of the city where you want to vote for at least six months prior to the election, and of course, (3) 18 years old.

If you meet all those requirements, you can just register at the COMELEC office in your area.
  • Normel Oct 06 2009 @ 03:24am Report Abuse
What about Filipino Canadians? I have not lived in the Philippines fro many eyars, but during my recent visit, I would like to take a more active role in rebuilding Philippines. I also recognize that the 2010 election will be one of the biggest one ever seen. I would like to vote, what do I do?

@crabbypatty: i think roco ran in the 2004 presidential elections.
  • Crabbypatty Oct 05 2009 @ 10:31am Report Abuse
This is useful. However, I just discovered that I need to re-register. When did Roco run? That's the last time I voted.

    Drat. I'm registering this week.
