Actually, mga ate malayo ang analogy ni Marj. winning the UAAP is so totally not related to topping the nursing or physician's exam. Topping the exams would involve Logical-Mathematical intelligence and winning UAAP would mean Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence. So why compare apples to oranges, because they are just both fruits? But of course, I would understand if some of the guys wouldn't get that. Besides, why stereotype people from UP or mga activist in particular. "If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything". Educate yourselves guys, even if your from UP or not from UP before making hasty remarks.
  • tsk tsk tsk Sep 04 2010 @ 02:04am Report Abuse
  • Missy Sep 03 2010 @ 10:07am Report Abuse
I never dreamed of going to UP. Cheap arrogance!
  • UP ako, ikaw? Sep 03 2010 @ 06:06am Report Abuse
  • abcde Sep 03 2010 @ 01:07am Report Abuse
They were quiet about that hazing incident in Makati. Same frat di ba?
  • Ces Sep 02 2010 @ 10:35pm Report Abuse
@ lila, UP is the champion of free speech (daw). It is a person's right to post a downward trend here. There is nothing wrong with that. What is wrong are the violent reactions. Don't act like a moderator("uaap lang ang topic") when you are not.

"yeah, right. kapag ang up nagtotop sa board exams, deadma lang. pero kapag hindi, sayang ang pera ng taong bayan. tsk tsk.". Anong masama dyan?
  • Juan Sep 02 2010 @ 09:39pm Report Abuse
@ lila, mag-isip ka naman. Hindi mo talaga makuha ang point. Walang argument. Walang koneksyon. It was to present a trend.
  • sdfsdfs Sep 02 2010 @ 03:04pm Report Abuse
no wonder why UP people are school for activists. OMG ego stomped on
  • lila Sep 02 2010 @ 01:42pm Report Abuse
"Walang dapat maging koneksyon ang Physician's exam, ang Nursing exam, at ang UAAP." - exactly. who started the argument about these three? to quote scorched, uaap lang ang topic.
  • Blue Sep 02 2010 @ 08:52am Report Abuse
Trend that UP has lately been second fiddle to others. Yon lang yon. Tigilan na ang intriga. Simple di ba?
  • Blue=Marj? Sep 02 2010 @ 08:39am Report Abuse
Blue, are you also Marj? LOL
  • Blue Sep 02 2010 @ 08:33am Report Abuse
The first sentence was culled out of newspaper reports. There is no negative statement added. The second line was a rhetorical question. Who do you think you are to restrain her from making a statement and asking a question? If you read you responses, its ALL negative. Ivy Leaguer or not, public shool system or not, your responses showed the world who is more educated. Placing critical thinking in this is pushing the envelope too far. Obviously, the quality of education of UP is at its lowest. That is according to recent newspaper reports.
  • UP ako, ikaw? Sep 02 2010 @ 06:03am Report Abuse
Hey Blue, you know what's wrong with Marj and You? You both are so bitter..and let me just point why we UP people reacted that way regarding the exams = UAAP, it is just so not connected! It doesn't have any relevance at all, not topping the exams then expecting to top UAAP?!it is so wrong and if you can't see what's wrong there then I can probably guess you are not from UP, because we UP people are thought to be critical thinkers, so Blue, just shut up pls. You are not sensible enough.
  • BitterMuch? Sep 02 2010 @ 02:04am Report Abuse
@ marj: bitter much? well, in fairness ha, your post was devoid of your usual hasty generalizations, but acerbic nonetheless.rnrnI won't jump in the "you-never-passed-the-upcat" thingie, kasi I've always believed that assuming is making an ASS out of YOU and me. But let me clear this topic once and for all: di ka nga ba pumasa sa UP?rnrnok lang naman kung di ka taga UP, malay ko ba kung Ivy Leaguer ka? Bongga yun in a major major way *winks*
  • porkandbeans Sep 01 2010 @ 11:36pm Report Abuse
    anu baaaaaaa!UAAP daw makareact naman!
  • Blue Sep 01 2010 @ 10:38pm Report Abuse
Marj's first statement re: exams is a statement of fact. Then she followed it with a question re: UAAP. What is wrong there? The violent reaction from obviously UP people is unthinkable. Including the UPCAT in the conversation made the discourse much lower as if UPCAT is the end all be all (excuse me!). All the while I thought you were smarter than that!
  • UP ako, ikaw? Sep 01 2010 @ 09:51pm Report Abuse
Hey Marj, don't sound so bitter..I can feel that you didn't pass UPCAT, it's ok, we all know that UP is number 1 but that doesn't mean you have to be bitter if you didn't get to enter the top school...wahahahaha!
  • liza Sep 01 2010 @ 08:18pm Report Abuse
@marj: Lila is right. It's all about the passing rate. You probably didn't pass UPCAT. Is that why you sound so bitter? Hahaha! And you must have been discriminated so much by foreigners. What a sad life you must have... Ok, we'll let you let it all out here... BRUHA!
  • scorched Sep 01 2010 @ 06:11pm Report Abuse
XDDDD
  • lila Sep 01 2010 @ 05:33pm Report Abuse
"Hindi pa rin na nanalo ang UP sa UAAP this year. Joskopong mahabagin. Parang awa niyo na." - gang badoy didn't say anything about up topping the uaap. she was merely hoping for up to win one game. re licensure exams, it's not just about topnotchers, it's also about the passing rate. ;)
  • paulie Sep 01 2010 @ 03:52pm Report Abuse
@marj: you sound so jaded. oo na. ikaw na magaling.

@ Veejay Floresca and Martin Bautista, don't forget the royalties from international exposure girls. @ Gang Badoy, UP was not the topnotcher in the Physician's Licensure Exams (UST topped) and UP was not the topnotcher in the Nursing Licensure Exams (Ateneo de Naga topped). Are you still hoping UP will top the UAAP? @ Maria Ressa, you were one of the culprits why we are in this big mess. @ Mo Twister, Wannabe Filipinos love to flaunt or talk about their new condo, designer items, gadgets, cars, and travels abroad. How much more in a room full of celebs? No surprises there. When they all travel overseas, the wannabes, the celebs, and the OFW's are only seen as ONE by the Immgration agents abroad: Filipinos. Get my drift?
