News Advisory: MMDA posts list of traffic violations + Twitter and Facebook updates

Published: Sep 2, 2010 - 10:32am

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) now maintains an updated website and is actively utilizing social media networks Twitter and Facebook to post traffic and news updates.

The MMDA website includes a primer on "10 Things that Drivers Should Know" under the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section. Both new drivers and long-time motorists will find information on driving around the metro, including non-violations, proper use of the yellow lane, and what Traffic Enforcers are allowed to do when apprehending violators.

Under the same section, one can find information on the revised rules for the Number Coding scheme as well as an updated guide to traffic fines and penalties.

MMDA is also on Twitter with traffic updates posted daily. News clips and updates are also posted on the MMDA channel on Youtube as well as on Facebook.

I had the scariest experience with the MMDA personnel near magallanes station. I actually dont have an intention to give something to them but it seems like they have their spiels in making money out of their job.. Plus maninigaw pa as if bingi ka.. Gosh.. Tpos hiniram pa yung cellphone ko pra magpanggap na my kausap sa phone dhil nkikita sa sa cctv..such a bright idea! It's really more fun in the philippines!

Hi, jhaycee! Kindly go to the MMDA website. You'll most probably find the answer there. This is the URL: http://mmda.gov.ph/. If not, call them. A list of their numbers is provided at http://mmda.gov.ph/contact.html. Thanks for reading SPOT.ph.

I agree with Patty. "it's not a violation but it CAN be". What????

Ito ang pinaka malabo at hindi clear:

Swerving is not a traffic violation. It is defined as a movement wherein vehicles quickly shift two (2) or more lanes. However, it can be considered as a traffic violation if it is done without precautions (e.g. swerving in an abrupt manner, swerving without the use of signals).
