(SPOT.ph) Aiming to raise awareness and to make art accessible to everyone, the French Embassy together with the Quezon City Government, Alliance Française de Manille, and the Niepce Museum, one of the oldest museums in France devoted to photography, have put together a must-see photography and video exhibit in the heart of Quezon City.

Scattered around the huge Quezon Memorial Circle park, the perfect space for this endeavor, are giant photo installations that feature the work of French photographer Charles Freger and Filipino photographer Jake Verzosa. Freger’s bright and colorful portraits showcase Sinulog performers’ while Verzosa’s work presents black and white photographs of the last few tattooed women of the Kalinga tribe in Cordillera. Alongside the photographs, a silent film by award-winning Filipino filmmaker Raya Martin is shown.

Bound by the Elliptical Road, the Quezon City Circle is a 35-hectare park that doesn’t only hold historical significance because it’s home to the remains of former Philippine president Manuel Luis Quezon, it’s also a favorite destination of Pinoys for jogging, biking, and simply hanging out.

The exhibit runs from May 4 to June 4.
