(SPOT.ph) After the hit rock musical Next to Normal staged earlier this year comes another Tony award-winning Broadway musical from Atlantis Productions—Aida: The Timeless Love Story will run from June 24 to July 10 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

This Elton John and Tim Rice pop-rock musical premiered on Broadway in 2000 and tells an epic tale about love, loyalty, and betrayal. In a nutshell: Enslaved Nubian Princess Aida (Ima Castro) and her captor, Egyptian Army Captain Radames (Myke Salomon), fall in love despite difficult circumstances including a war between the two nations where they are from, and Radames' betrothal to Egyptian Princess Amneris (Rachel Alejandro).

Joining Ima Castro, Myke Salomon and Rachel Alejandro as part of the cast are: Rachel's dad Hajji Alejandro as the Chief Minister of Egypt and father of Radames, Zoser; Alys Serdenia as the Nubian slave, Nehebka; and Josh Santana as Radames' Nubian servant, Mereb.  The production is directed by Chari Arespacochaga.
