10. Mikael Daez
Hot for: his sex cuts

His gorgeous body may be the first thing people notice, but there's more to this hottie than rock-hard abs and a sculpted chest; he's athletic, hardworking, and very intelligent (read his column “Fully Loaded” in The Philippine Star)—a quality that's pretty sexy on its own.  Though he's a familiar figure in fashion shows and commercials, Mikael gained widespread recognition when he joined the cast of Temptation Island (2011), and wore mostly, well, nothing, throughout the entire film.

Like most buff young men, he keeps active to stay in shape. In an interview for Ricky Lo's column for The Philippine Star, Mikael said: “I come from a family that's very active, always on the go, a lover of sports. Being active is natural with me. It helps me maintain this kind of body. I work out at the gym three times a week. Sometimes, I run but I'd rather play basketball.” Mikael was a former Blue Eaglet.

He rarely drinks, he doesn't smoke, but he does indulge in Subway sandwiches before and after working out. If beauty, or in this case, “hotness,” really does come from within, then Mikael's good looks may be attributed to his positive outlook. “I'm an optimist... Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take but by the number of moments that take your breath away.”

9. Enrique Gil
Hot for: his tushy

He's only 19 but Enrique is out to prove that he's no longer a tween, showing off his, er, derriere at the last Cosmo Bachelor Bash. A lucky audience member even had the privilege of pouring honey all over his exposed body. “I'm not getting any younger,” a bemused Gil explained when Cosmo.ph asked why he went the sexy route.

His body, however, is a product of hard work and discipline. In a feature in Young Star, Enrique said that his mom is a health freak. “She always tells me ‘your health is your wealth.' She's into a lot of organic food and our kitchen is very health conscious.” His exercise mostly involves dancing, although he tries to hit the gym as often as his schedule permits. He also maintains a proper diet of vegetables, fish, and other proteins.

His sexiest asset? Why, his backside—which may be the reason he decided to show it off in the first place. Though he told Ricky Lo in early 2011 that he needed to tone his posterior, he seemed to have embraced his curves more when he posed as a Cosmo centerfold in October. “A lot of people say I have a big big butt. I think that's a plus,” he said.

8. Markki Stroem
Hot for: his height

This Pilipinas Got Talent finalist has more than a sexy singing voice—he's got the body to match, too. In a March 2011 interview, Markki describes his workout simply: “I run in the morning. Sometimes, I swim. I lift weights. I box on Sundays. I used to do triathlons when I was a kid and I'm going back to it now.”

Physical limitations don't restrain him from being fit (he has an enlarged heart). According to the 5'11" hunk, he's allergic to dust, pollution, and cigarette smoke. “I sneeze a lot; my head tends to hurt, and I get rashes all over my body,” he said.

To prepare for his Cosmo.ph shoot last year, the laidback Markki admitted that he had to go through a panic workout session to make up for his lack of exercise that summer. “I haven't been doing cardio for a while, so I've got a lot of bilbil. So bad. Even Jeff, my handler, was telling me, ‘Markki, you're fat, you're getting old!'” he said. To counter the bulge and to look sexy for the shoot, he biked everyday for a month and also attended spinning classes.

7. Rocco Nacino
Hot for: his lean frame

He may have missed the top spot in Starstruck V, but Rocco is proving he's no loser when it comes to the muscles. In a PEP.ph article in 2011, Rocco described his metabolism as “mabilis tumaba, mabilis pumayat,” but a love for sports (basketball) and martial arts (Muay Thai, judo, Ju Jitsu) keeps him in tiptop shape.

His physique hasn't gone unnoticed. Rocco was on the cover of Men's Health magazine's July 2011 issue, wearing a black t-shirt that showed off his bulky frame. The year before, he also nabbed a spot in Cosmo's 69 Bachelors of 2010, where he flaunted more than drool-worthy abs.

After his first Cosmo feature came out, rumors spread about a suspiciously copious bulge beneath the tight briefs he wore. Don't worry though, ladies. Shortly after the (minor) controversy, Rocco clarified with Philippine Star columnist Ricky Lo that he didn't receive any help from the people at Adobe. “No padding… Walang ginalaw,” he said.

6. Victor Basa
Hot for: those shoulders

Despite issues about his sexuality, Victor has kept his confidence high, his mystery intact, and his abs well-toned. Victor, under his girlfriend's (socialite Divine Lee) influence, has dabbled in TRX, a workout that utilizes suspension training. He also plays soccer, goes wakeboarding, and even skateboarding.

According to a Philippine Star article, the former PBB housemate and one-time vegetarian is a food lover but tries to avoid fatty food—although he usually gives in to lamb chops. He also “carbo-loads” regularly to complement his frequent workouts.

The 5'11 stud was also member of Cover Boys, a group of equally beefy men comprised of Jake Cuenca, Zanjoe Marudo, Will Devaughn, Jon Avila, Rafael Rosell, who usually performed on the Sunday noontime variety show, ASAP.

5. JC Tiuseco
Hot for: his pecs

Being declared one of Regal's Most Desirable Men last May should be enough indication of exactly how steaming hot JC is. His buff bod, however, is an aspirational sum of painful hours at the gym and a very strict diet. For his TV series Sisid, JC hit the gym almost every single day for a month. “‘Yong diet ko, puro healthy talaga. No carbs. Brown rice. Tapos tinigil ko talaga ang meat ko noon,” he told PEP.ph.

The sole Survivor has to carefully maintain his physique. “Hindi biro na alagaan ang body! Kasi ang hirap eh,” he admitted. “Mga two days ka lang mag-off, kain ka nang kain, lalaki agad ang tiyan mo.” He told The Freeman that he has to constantly motivate himself to get through his workouts. “Una, tingnan ko lang ‘yong sarili ko sa mirror na nakikita ko yung improvement sa katawan mo. Makakita ko din ang ibang tao na ang ganda ng katawan nila. So sasabihin ko sa sarili ko na sana ma-achieve ko rin yun.” He added that he feels more focused when he's fit.

With a lot of things on his plate, the athlete-cum-actor revealed in Cosmo.ph that acting is his favorite: “Ang pinaka na-e-enjoy ko acting… Mas nakaka-pressure ‘yung sa showbiz ngayon kasi ‘yun ‘yung bago kong ginagawa, kailangan kong pag-aralan. ‘Yung basketball ilang years ko na ginagawa.”

4. Paulo Avelino
Hot for: his biceps

That shy smile doesn't fool anybody. Take away his boy-next-door facade and you'll find the sexy cutie that he really is. At 5'11” and weighing a solid 152 pounds, Paulo isn't coy about his ripped bod. In an article in The Philippine Star, he even explained his reluctance about photo-editing, saying “I don't need to, do I?”

At a Cosmo shoot in 2011, Paulo revealed that he maintains his scorching frame by regularly going to the gym and sticking to a proper diet. But it's not all about the physical aspect either. He once told columnist Ricky Lo: “Sexy doesn't necessarily mean going naked or showing skin. It's an attitude…how you move and how you make your presence felt.”

Unfortunately for girls everywhere, the 23-year-old has been in a long-term relationship with his baby momma, LJ Reyes. But to those who dare to dream, he admits that he prefers simple girls, but “in the bedroom, an aggressive one.”

3. Enchong Dee
Hot for: his swimmer's body

He may not be as bulky as the rest of the Adonises on this list but this Candy and Cosmo regular can smoothly shift from twee heartthrob to sizzling hunk. A swimmer since youth, Enchong has that perfectly lean-but-chiseled, v-shaped torso and those toned arms that are just so darn good to look at. Apart from swimming, this gold medalist also dips his muscles in running, badminton and triathlons. His favorite body part is his chest. He told Manila Bulletin in 2010: “Kapag tumataba ako, kapag bakasyon, chest lang ‘yong natitira, ‘yong tiyan lumalaki kasi.”

With his busy work schedule cutting his pool time to a minimum, Enchong has had to be more wary about his fitness regimen. According to his official website, he begins his day with a light breakfast and opts for a heavier lunch. “After that, vitamins. Sobrang kailangan mo ang vitamins. Hindi mo alam na nanghihina ka na pala pero vitamins help you,” he said. “Tapos, small meals na lang kapag nakakaramdam na ako ng gutom. Mahirap naman yung biglaan ka marami ka kakainin. Masama din kasi iyon.”

Enchong also dished out a few health tips in a Cosmo.ph feature this February. His advice: “Water. Dapat sobrang you constantly drink water. Kung lalampas sa eight servings, okay lang 'yon. Second is, tamang bilad lang sa sunlight. Third, ihiwalay mo lang 'yung taba sa mga kinakain mo. 'Yun lang 'yon.”

2. Borgy Manotoc
Hot for: his washboard abs

Borgy's appeal doesn't come from his chiseled jaw line, his washboard abs, his long and toned legs, and his sexy tan. It's that smoldering glare; that seemingly devil-may-care attitude intensified by his cool sense of style. Despite an apparently active social life (read: partying), Borgy still manages to keep his body lean and, well, delicious. His secret? Balance. A Philippine Star article published in December quoted him saying: “I love to eat and have a good time. It's just a matter of compensating for the bad with a little good once in a while,” adding that he works out “occasionally.”

His physique is also due to an active lifestyle. “I grew up an athlete and [I've] been into all kinds of sports. To me, exercise and a healthy lifestyle are a part of my life and not something I do consciously,” he said in the article. Borgy describes his father as a “nutrition freak.” “We grew up with no preservatives, no white sugar. I had to go to my friend's house to drink soda. That's how bad it was at home,” he added.

As one half of the country's hottest “it” couple (with model Georgina Wilson, nonetheless), Borgy is definitely a catch. And, as revealed in the latest issue of Cosmo magazine, when it comes to his lady love, he drops the sophisticated demeanor, showing that he is actually one of the sweetest guys around.

1. Xian Lim
Hot for: the whole package

At six feet and two inches, Xian stands out from most crowds. But then again that could be because of his mestizo features, muscular frame, good-natured disposition, and his uncanny resemblance to Edward Cullen (the character, and not Rob-Pat). Before he was bitten by the acting bug, Xian initially wanted to be a professional ballplayer, which explains his chiseled physique at such a young age. Fortunately, the muscles came in handy when he decided to pursue show business full time.

Xian works out every other day. In Ricky Lo's Body Talk column, he admits to following the age-old tradition of “eating breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper,” adding that he eats little to no rice, a lot of eggs, oatmeal, fish, chicken, and stays away from pork. He also tries not to eat anything past 6 p.m.

The Cosmo 2009 centerfold is also gracing the cover of Men's Health this month. The self-confessed former “fat” kid said he got into running and basketball because he wanted to fit in.
