Luis Daniel Tabuena calls this sign on an overpass near the Sucat exit of the South Superhighway "the enterprising spirit of the Filipino," in response to the recent ordinance passed in Barangay Ayala Alabang requiring doctors' prescriptions for condoms. Violators can be fined up to P500 or jailed for up to four months. Tabuena wants to clarify, though, that he "doctored an existing photo (by absinthe_888) to get a laugh out of my friends."

"Grabe, 'pag may pumasok pa sa street na ito, 'di ko na alam!" says Christine Ko who took this snapshot of a portion of Aras Street in San Juan.

"At least it wasn't a toothbrush," laughs Melody Lalata, who couldn't resist snapping this shot of a spoon filling in for a broken door handle in a cab she rode in the city recently, "probably the tenth one I've seen," she adds.

Manila is home to odd signs that sometimes make it hard to be street smart. Take this sign that says "Right/Left Turn Only." Does that mean it's a dead end? Spotted by Christine Ko on Lee Street in Mandaluyong.

"It was a fun, fun party with a full concert to boot," says Girlie Rodis about the Ogie Alcasid-Regine Velasquez nuptials last week. Rodis shot this photo of the playful singing superstar couple getting "showered with fortune and blessings" during the traditional money-pinning dance at their wedding.

Says Jean Natividad of this sweet couple she photographed at the 2010 One Love LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Community Pride March, "This couple made everyone at the march envious.They were more than willing to stop and pose for every eager participant who wanted to take their photo."

Another oddity captured by www.thefashpack.com blogger Liza Ilarde in Malate. She jokes, "With the frequency with which they change the rules, why buy a new sign when you can just turn the old one over?"

Usually, www.thefashpack.com blogger Liza Ilarde shoots fashion events, but she's glad her camera captured this odd "Only in the Philippines" phenomenon while driving somewhere in Pasay a few years ago, because it's no longer there!

Says social entrepreneur Illac Diaz, amidst 15 thousand plastic bottles for his "Bottle School" project in San Pablo, Laguna. The plastic bottles are filled with stabilized soil as an alternative to hollow blocks and will be used to build an 8-classroom plastic school with the help of volunteers. One-year-old Nacho, who is trick-or-treating with older sister Andie, is the son of Parokya ni Edgar drummer Dindin Moreno, who snapped this photo. "The Damaso outfit was actually my wife's idea," says Moreno. "None of the off-the-rack costumes were nice, so we decided to have it tailor made in Kamuning. We had no particular reason in picking Padre Damaso. Then again, maybe because of the Carlos Celdran incident, the character is still fresh in our minds."

The audience reportedly collectively gasped 20 times during Furne One Red Cross Charity Gala on October 9 as models slipped onstage. Says Girlie Rodis who took this photo, "The show was wonderful but when the models started to fall it was stressful. I was worried for them. But when Marina Benipayo came out with that huge cape looking splendid-- we were just awe-struck. It was the show to watch for the year."

Jenner Ong took a photo of the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles' mascot as he tries to defy gravity. Perhaps, our fine-feathered Atenista friend was just ecstatic over his team's hardcourt win over their archrival, the De La Salle University Green Archers, last August 22.

Jose Santos P. Ardivilla took a photo of artist Kiri Dalena's "The Present Disorder Is the Order of the Future," a haunting art piece set up on the very same spot where the body of dentist Mary Ann Magtoto landed after she fell from the Shangri-La Plaza Mall's 6th floor.

Balikbayan Frankie Lopez took this photo of a girdle with built-in posterior "enhancements" in a store in Megamall thinking how grateful he was that his girlfriend is blessed with a great behind, and "how sad that many Filipinos, or Asians for that matter, are so superficial." He thought, "how surprising it would be to find out, once it was removed, that there was really nothing in there..."

So reads a dedication from "Ben" to a Pampanguena named Asyang who owned this slambook circa 1936 in this photo taken by Chef Giney Villar of Adarna Food & Culture Restaurant. The slambook is part of the collection of memorabilia displayed at Adarna. Another dedication: "If ever you get married, and your husband gets cross, just take hold of the rolling pin and say, 'I'm your boss!'" from a certain Luring Puno.
