Young jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and his master Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) are sent to settle matters regarding the blockaded planet Naboo. They are brought to Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), and they soon set out to meet with Republican leaders. A spacecraft failure leaves them stranded in the planet Tatooine, where Obi-Wan meets young Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd). Qui-Gon believes the young slave can be a great Jedi leader in the future. The jedi master bargains for Anakin’s freedom and teaches him the lessons of the Force.
