Juana Change's Latest Video for the RH Bill

Published: Oct 17, 2010 - 8:17am

A video entitled "Mga Anak ng Diyos," is making waves on YouTube, Facebook and all over the Internet with Juana Change offering her usual satirical take on one of the most controversial issues in the country--the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill.

Comic activist Mae Paner, the woman behind Juana Change, is known for speaking her mind and producing videos to grab people's attention and rally for reforms in Philippine society and politics. Some issues she has tackled in previous videos include bribery, the Charter Change and political arrogance, all done with wit and humor.

In this video, Monsignor, played by Lou Veloso, represents the Church's stand on the RH bill says, "Sex education--that's the ultimate form of child abuse."

Also in the video are Raquel Villavicencio, Dexter Doria and Mads Nicolas. Says Paner on the video, "Mga Anak ng Diyos" is our 23rd viral [video] on Youtube which we have dedicated ourselves to doing   for love of our country.

Our love for God should be grounded in the reality of our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

The video is also peppered with statistics on birth-related deaths and misconceptions about AIDS.

This is perfect! Women standing for their own rights. Some say garapal daw ang video (from one of the commentators in a program of ANC). I totally disagree. For 14 years, this bill has been shelved. We need this kind of video to raise awareness, specially to the poor people of our country that they have a choice and that they can be responsible parents and citizens of the country. I-pasa ang RH bill!!! I am also willing to be excommunicated by the Catholic Church para lang ma pasa and RH bill. President Aquino and all the law makers in favor of RH bill, please keep up the fight and pass this bill.
