"(DZRH's) Deo Macalma and Ruth Abao were just talking about President (Noynoy) Aquino's new apple of the eye, (supposedly) Patricia Anne Roque of TV-5," freelance writer Loi Reyes Landicho, also known as the blogger Professional Heckler, Tweeted this morning. Roque, a 22-year-old Aksyon reporter, replied to Landicho's post: "Huwaaat?! No! I don't get to talk to P-Noy naman eh. Wow, where did that come from?!"
Landicho Tweeted supposed quotes from Macalma and Abao: "Kamukha siya ni Bernadette Sembrano... Petite, maganda... Galing UP 'yan... Malalaman natin kung paano niya haharapin 'tong isyu. (She looks like Bernadette Sembrano... Petite, pretty... She's from the University of the Philippines... Let's see how she handles this issue.)"
Roque repeatedly denied being the new apple of the President's eye. She said the last time she reported about Aquino was "his first weekend as President." After she sent a tweet to the DZRH Twitter account, the radio station asked if they could interview her via phone. To this, she said, "Hahahaha! Nasa coverage ako now. Ipaalam n'yo po sa TV-5." A former child actress, she was also a UAAP courtside reporter for the UP Fighting Maroons. She graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
UPDATE (October 8, 4:15 p.m.): In a text message sent to ABS-CBNNews.com, Aquino said, "Not even sure I have met the individual (Roque)." Also asked if there's any truth to rumors that he and his girlfriend, Valenzuela Rep. Shalani Soledad, broke up, the President said, "Let me preserve what little I have of my private life." For her part, Soledad said in a text message, "I would rather not comment muna."
