An estimated 200,000 people braved the rains and traffic jams and flocked to boulevards and highways traversing three cities to say goodbye to the simple housewife who led her nation in the toppling of a dictator 23 years ago.
People from all walks of life trooped to the stretch of Roxas Boulevard starting from the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros all the way to the South Superhighway leading to the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque to bid farewell to former President Corazon Aquino as she was brought to her final resting place beside her late husband Ninoy. Five citizen journalists were there to capture the journey of her cortege in the momentous occasion that made history on August 5, 2009:
