(SPOT.ph) A report conducted by private Swiss banking group Julius Baer has predicted that there will be 38,164 millionares in the Philippines by 2015, reports ABS-CBN News. In its report, Julius Baer enumerated 11 Asian countries, including the Philippines, with the largest number of high net-worth individuals (HNI), with China leading the pack.

According to Reuters' report, China alone would hold half the millionaires in Asia with its combined wealth of $8.8 trillion. Currently, China has 502,000 million HNIs with investable assets totaling $2.6 trillion. India, on the other hand, would more than double its number of HNIs to 403,000 by 2015. Julius Baer predicted that these two countries would contribute over 40 percent of global economic growth for 2011 to 2012.

How the Swiss Bank came up with this exact number 38,164 is great statistical work. They did not say however, if these are new millionaires or they will be an addition to the existing ones that the country already have. 38,164 still does not represent 1% of the country's population, politicians need to steal more from taxpayers money to exceed that projection. rnrn

What sectors of the population would be represented in that 38,164 projected millionaires ? Enterpreneurs, entertainment, politics related careers, military, sports and clergy, maybe ? rnrn38,164 out of a 101 million population by any standard is a small number, but certainly an improvement.

@shooter: what this study means is that it is actually possible to be a millionaire in USD in the Philippines. But you need to be extremely smart, talented, and industrious. Luck also plays a part, syempre.

millionaire ang popular tag, pero ngayon ang proper term na ginagamit is HNWI or HNI - High net worth individual. and ang basis nito is in dollars. rn@kororo: nice! let's all have that positive vibes.
