Cults are very inclusive, and members claim only they will be saved.Some religious denomination also guarantee salvation only for their adherents.Welcoming people to his Kingdom is the sole his mother,sisters, and brothers, or relatives, that is, being close to him, has to do with hearing the word of God and keeping it.

Most of Jesus' contemporaries believed that "all Isaraelites have a share in the world to come". But some rabbis thought that only a "remnant" would be saved. These would be people who were faithful to the Law. Only repentance and obedience to the will of God enable one to enter the kingdom.Jesus highlights the need for a strenuous effort.This begins with disabusing oneself of the idea that being a member of the "family" guarantess salvation.

French philosopher and mathematician Blaise pascal declared that within every human being, our Creator has placed a "God-shaped void" that only God Himself can fill.

IS THERE SALVATION OUTSIDE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

Being the universal sacrament of salvation, the Catholic Church includes all human beings.As stated in its catechism:
"All men are called to this catholic unity of the People of God...And to it, in different ways, belong or are ordered: the Catholic faithful, other who believed in Christ, and finally all mankind, called by God's grace to salvation" [Catechism of the Catholic Church n.836].

The Church Fathers (learned Catholic who lived after the apostolic era) loved to picture the Church as Noah's ark where all human being could find a place.Humanity as a whole pertains or is related to this "Ark", which is the only way for salvation from "the great flood". The body of Christ which is the Church includes all of humanity and this sense, nobody is really outside of her. That's why, it is also true that "Outside the Church,there is no salvation." This statement is an inclusive proclamation of salvation.Everybody, even the enemies of the Catholic Church, are part of this Church.

The goal, of course, is that everybody should enjoy full membership, that is, to join the Catholic faithful.That is why,the teaching that "Outside the Church,there is no Salvation" Is also encouragement for Catholics to become missionaries and help spread the Catholic faith.

Is Joining Cults.a Sin of Apostasy?

The Catholic Church places much importance on the education of conscience because conscience is the primary basis of moral life.She respects then the decision of any body who decides to become a member of the Cults If this is a product of his conscience's dictate.We don't believe that any Catholic who join the Cults becomes a servant of the devil.When such person does this decision on dictates of his conscience(believing truly in the teaching of the Cults as the "truth"), then he made a decision pleasing to God and good for his soul. A Catholic who joins the Cults, thinking of the economic benefits, or to please a spouse or a husband,is another story. Once God is subordinated to purely human interests, then a person really violates the sacredness of his conscience, committing a serious sin, which is apostasy.

The Teaching of the Church Fathers

That we can lose the gift of salvation given to us in our baptism runs through the teachings of the Church Fathers ,holy men who lived after the apostles.The early Church Fathers were unanimous in teaching the reality of mortal sin.They had to embrace the doctrine of mortal sin precisely because they recognized not only the salvific power of baptism but also the damning power of certain serious sins.The idea that one could never lose salvation was evident from the Bible that baptism saves,that the baptized can deny Christ,and that those who deny Christ will not be saved unless they repent, as did Peter.This observation echoes through these ancient writings and authors.

"Watch for you life's sake,Let not your lamps be quenched , nor your loins unloosed; but be ready, for you Know not the hour in which our Lord comes.But you shall assemble together often,seeking the things which are befitting to your souls:for the whole time of your faith will not profit you,if you be not made Complete in the last time" (Dadache16[A.D.70]). What the Church fathers here refer to as grave sins, the denial of Jesus that led to hell?They identity it under three headings:murder, adultery and apostasy (to renounce one's belief in Jesus and to worship the pagan gods). The Church took these sins very seriously that in the beginning only allowed one absolution for these three sins after baptism, and if a person committed them again, he was left to God's mercy.

Baptism makes us adopted children of God, Brethren of Jesus Christ the only Son.

The city of Jerusalem,considered a holy site by three monotheistic--Judaism,Christianity, and Islam--has been a "sign of contradiction," a bone of contention.

The most difficult part of apologetics is to defend the faith against Christians who had come up with new doctrines.The first of these heretics were those who taught that God did not die in Calvary.and that Jesus' passion and death was done by a substitute or was merely a drama initiated by God who caused an illusion of passion and death.These Christians could not easily accept that God died in Calvary;thus for them,the man Jesus died,but his divinity was spared.The job of the Christian apologist is to trace the consequences of such belief:to believe that only Jesus' humanity died in Calvary is to deny the mystery of the incarnation,that it was false that God became man.If you deny this belief,then you likewise throw away the heart of the gospel:that God has become one with us.

HELL AS A REAL FUTURE POSSIBILITY

THE IDEA of Hell is not very popular these days.Even recent Church documents rarely mention Hell.For example,in Walter Abbot's edition of the Vatican II documents,there are 43 pages if Index in small print,but the words"Hell" and "damnation" are not listed there.Nor is Hell mentioned in Pope Paul VI's other wise very lengthy "Credo of the People of God"(1968). In fact, today many Christians either deny altogether the existence of Hell or else refuse to discuss it.Yet,a Letter of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (May17,1979) has two paragraphs on the existence of Hell is a real future possibility.What must we think of all this?

Hell is mentioned some 10 times in the gospels(Mk3:28-30;9:43-48,16:16;Mt5:22;8:11-12;10:28;13:41-42;25:31-46;Jn3:36;5:28) and some 5 other times in the rest if the New Testament (2Thes1:1:5-9;2Cor5:10;Rom2:5-8;Rv14:9-11;20:12-15).
However,these texts must be rightly interpreted,and fortunately there is a growing consensius to see them, not as anticipated descriptions of factual events about to happen in the future,but rather as prophetic warnings of what could happen if a person obstinately chose the path of evil.In other words,the inner dynamics of evil are such that,if even follows its own course,it leads away from God and ultimately excludes from the kingdom of God.By means of his threat--discourses on Hell,Jesus wants to protect us from such a ghastly fate.
As we can see,damnation in the New Testament is always hypothetical only.For actually no text declares that there are presently human beings who are already damned,nor has the Church ever made such a declaration--not even concerning Judas! In fact,since "God is love"(Mt19:26;Lk1:37,is it not thinkable that such a God could find a way of insuring the eternal happiness of all human beings?

Hell is an Easy Doctrine to Explain

Hell is to be in a darkness where the Holy Spirit no longer touches souls with his love and where,as a consequence,there is only rejection,hatred,and despair.To be in hell is to be locked into one's ego forever.To be blind to all that is beautiful and good and true,to be incapable of reaching out another to say, I love you. Hell is the graveyard of all hopes and dreams.The damned see all that they might have been but refused to become. They hate themselves for what they are.

The theme of judgement resounds all through the New Testament and the Old.Consider for example, that dramatic scene recounted by Matthew in his Gospel:O Jerusalem,Jerusalem, murderess of prophets and stoner of those who were sent to you!How often have I yearned to gather your children,as a mother bird gather her young under her wings,but you refused me.Recall the saying ,'You will find your temple deserted.'I tell you,you will not see me from this time on until you declare,'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'(Mt13:37-39).

The Assumption of Mary

If she was preserved from original sin she would not be bound to share the consequences of sin that is death! So there is no theological error to conclude that "the Blessed Mother Mary at the end of her earthly life was assumed both body and soul into heavenly glory."
The assumption of Mary flows immediately from the Catholic faith that she was immaculate and most pure. As we have seen earlier, this purity and sinlessness was proven in the Bible and was accepted by early Christiana with out any doubt.

Biblical basis faith
To prove from the Bible a logical and most reasonable conclusion about the Assumption of Mother Mary, we should know what the Bible says about sin and death.

The Holy Bible states in Rm5:12 "Therefore,just as through one person sin entered the world, and through sin,death,and thus death came to all, in as such as all sinned.."So it is clear from the scripture that death is the consequence of sin.
In his letter (Rm6:23),St.Paul underlines this fact once again:
"For the wages of sin is death,but the gift of God is eternal life is Christ Jesus our Lord."
St. Paul makes this theology very clear when he repeats on another place(1Cor15:21-26):"For since death came through a human being,the resurrection of the dead came also through a human being.For just as in Adam all die,so too in Christ shall all be brought to life,but each one in proper order:Christ the first fruits;then,at his coming,those who belong to Christ;then comes the end,when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father,when he has put all his enemies under his feet.The last enemy to be destroyed is death..."

As it is written in the Bible that sin and death came from Satan,Mary has to become the enemy of sin and Satan to fulfill the enmity between you(the serpent,Satan) and the woman (Mary), and between your offspring (the minions of Satan) and hers(Christ);he will strike at your head,while your strike at his heel."This theology of the Assumption is nothing new to the Bible.There are other examples in the Bible that prove those who found favor before God already received the grace of Assumption both body and soul into heaven.

Assumption both body and soul Biblical
Genesis 5:24 and Heb.11:5 say that Enoch was bodily assumed into heaven without dying.
2kings 2:11-12;1Maccabees 2:58--Elijah was assumed into heaven in a fiery chariot.Jesus would not do any less for his Blessed Mother.
2Cor.12:2--Paul speaks of a man in Christ who was caught up into heaven.Mary was also brought up into heaven by God.
Revelation12:1we see Mary, the "woman" clothed with the Sun.While in Rv.6:9 we only see the souls of the martyrs in heaven,in Rv12:1 we see Mary,both body and soul.
For St.Paul, the concept of Assumption was there in his mind when he wrote 1Thes.4:17--"we shall be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we shall always be with the Lord."
Mt27:52-53--When Jesus died and rose,the bodes of the saints were raised.Nothing in Scripture precludes Mary's assumption into heaven.
2Thes2:15--Paul instruct us to hold fast to oral (not just written) tradition.Apostolic tradition says Mary was assumed into heaven.While claiming the bones of the saints was a common practice during these times(and would have been especially important to obtain Mary's bones as she was the Mother of God),Mary' bones were never claimed. This is because they were not available.

The more clearly we see and appreciate the unique role each Person of the God head has in our salvation, the more intimate will be our daily walk with him. We cannot fully comprehend His being--that He is three--in--one,that He eternally exists in three equal yet distinct Persons as God the Father,God the Son,and God the Holy Spirit(Mt3:16-17;28:19). But He expects us to praise Him because of the wonder of his love and forgiveness that flows from His triune nature.That's why the Trinity is such a vital truth.

Jesus explained his presence on earth as an action in obedience to the Father.When his parents thought that they had lost him in the temple of Jerusalem and after three days of frantic search Jesus calmly told them:"Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?"(Lk24:9). Jesus describes himself as a loving Son of the Father.

What our Separate brethren and other Non- CHRISTIAN SECT DO IS TO resurrect an old controversy that was already resolved a long time ago.To be a christian church,one needs to affirm its belief in the Trinitarian God.Thus, Our separate brethren and other sects could bo considered as pagan religions because of their denial of the Trinitarian doctrine.

As the father gazes upon the photograph of his family on his desk at work and feels the warming of his heart at the thought of his wife and children,so,too,an image of Jesus' Mother can evoke similar feeling of filial love and devotion to her.But,as is true of the family photo and the public memorial statue,the Marian statue or image possesses neither intrinsic power nor personhood; it only conveys an image of a heavenly Spiritual Mother most deserving of our earthly devotion and love.

The opening of the New World brought with it both fortune-seekers and religious preachers desiring to convert the native populations to the Christian faith.One of the converts was a poor Aztec Indian named Juan Diego.In one of his trips to the chapel,Juan was walking through the Tepayac hill country in central Mexico.Near Tepayac Hill HE encountered a beautiful woman surrounded by a ball of light as bright as the sun.Speaking in his native tongue,the beautiful lady identified herself:

"My dear little son, I love you.I desire you to know who I am.I am the ever-virgin Mary,Mother of the true God Who gives life and maintains its existence.He created all things.He is in all places.He is Lord of Heaven and Earth. I desire a church in this place where your people may experience my compassion.All those who sincerely ask my help in their work and in their sorrow will know my Mother's Heart in this place.Here I will see their tears; I will console them and they will be at peace.So run now to Tenochtitlan and tell the bishop all that you have seen and heard."

Juan,age57,and who had never been to Tenochtitlan,nonetheless immediately responded to Mary's request.He went to the palace of the bishop-elect Fray Juan de Zumarraga and requested to meet immediately with the bishop.The bishop's servant,who were suspicious of the rural peasant Kept him waiting for hours.The bishop-elect told Juan that he would consider the request of the Lady and told him he could visit him again if he so desired.Juan was disappointed by the bishop's response and felt himself unworthy to persuade someone as important as a bishop.He returned to the hill where he had first met Mary and found her too send someone else,she responded:

"My little son,am i not your Mother?Do not fear.The bishop shall have his sign.Come back to this place tomorrow.Only peace,my little son."

While it was freezing on the hillside,Juan obeyed Mary's instruction and went to the top of the hill where he found a full bloom of Castillian roses.Removing his tilma , a poncho-like cape made of cactus fiber,he cut the roses and carried them back to Mary. She rearanged the roses and told him:

"My little son,this is the sign I am sending to the bishop.Tell him that with this I request his greatest efforts to complete the church I desire in this place.Show these flowers to no one else but the bishop.You are my trusted ambassador.This time the bishop will believe all you tell him."

At the palace,Juan once again came before the bishop and several of his advisors.He told the bishop his story and opened the Tilma letting the flowers fall out.But it wasn't the beautiful roses that caused the bishop and his advisors to fall to their knees;for there,on the tilma,was a picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary precisely as Juan had described her. The next day,after showing the tilma at the cathedral,Juan took the bishop to the spot where he first met Mary.He then returned to his village where he met his uncle who was completely cured.His uncle told him he had met a young woman,surrounded by a soft light,who told him that she just sent his nephew to Tenochtitlan with a picture of herself.She told his uncle:

"Call me and call my image Santa Maria de Guadalupe."
Its believed that the word Guadalupe was actually a Spanish mistranslation of the local Aztec dialect.The word that Mary probably used was Coatlallope which means "one who treads on snakes"!Within six years of this apparition, six million Aztec had converted to Catholicism.The tilma shows Mary as the God-bearer--she is pregnant with her Divine Son.Since the time the tilma was first impressed with a picture of the Mother of God,it has been subject to a variety of environmental hazards including smoke from fires and candles,water from floods and torrential downpours and in, 1912,a bomb which was planted by anti-clerical forces on an altar under it.There was also a cast-iron cross next to the tilma and when the bomb exploded,the cross was twisted out of shape,the marble altar rail was heavily damaged and the tilma was..untouchable!Indeed,no one was injured in the church despite the damage that occurred to a large part of the altar structure.

The belief that the saints in heaven intercede for us is biblical!The Book of Revelation portrays the twenty-four elders as offering our prayers to God like incense (Rv5:8). Those who sleep in Christ are still members of his Body,as are we.So we can ask them to pray for us the same way we would ask a fellow Christian on earth to pray for us.

MARY,OF COURSE, IS A RESURRECTED SAINT,AS WE SAW IN THE ARTICLE ON THE ASSUMPTION.She,too,offers our prayers before the Throne of Grace.

Early Christian witness

In the early centuries those who heard from the apostles believed in the intercession of Mary.
"And whereas Eve had disobeyed God,
Mary was persuaded to obey God,that the Virgin Mary might become advocate(advocata) of the virgin Eve" (St.Irenaeus,Against Heresies5:19:1).

"With the Mediator,you are the Mediatrix of the ENTIRE WORLD"(St.Ephraem,Syria opera graeca et latine, v.3,pp.525,528-532(373 A.D).

"The Lord said to his mother,'Let your heart rejoice and be glad,for every favor and every gift has been given to you from my Father in heaven and from me and from the Holy Spirit.Every soul that calls upon your name shall not be ashamed,but shall find mercy and comfort and support and confidence,both in the world that now is and in that which is to come,in the presence of my Father in the heavens"(John the Theologian,The Falling Asleep of Mary;400A.D)"Hail you who acceptably intercede as a Mediatrix for man kind"(Antipater of Bostra, A.D431).

The Lord's Repetitive Prayer

Mt26:39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed,saying,"O My father Me; nevertheless,not as i will,but as You will."
v42 Again,a second time,He went away and prayed,Saying,"O My Father,if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done."

The Rosary is a biblical prayer.When we recite this prayer we are repeating words from the Bible.

The Greek philosopher,Plato,once said there are three valid source of Knowledge.
1.The five senses-touch,taste,smell,sight,sound--which we share with the animal kingdom.
2.Reason--which separates man from the lower animals.
3.The Third one He called "Divine Madness"--by which he referred to the spiritual world of supernatural communication.Later his disciple,Aristotle,removed the third source which is that area of man's mind capable of Understanding God.Aristotle said Knowledge comes only through the five senses and reason.
Much of the Western world was affected by what Aristotle taught.But in Eastern and primitive cultures,references to the spirit world--the world of dreams,visions,and supernatural communication--is common in all walks of life.While Aristotle would have rejected the Bible as a source of Knowledge,Jesus never doubted when He said the Bible is the primary way through which God reveals Himself to mankind.Now,2000 years later,more people are seeing that Jesus was right.
Voltaire,the famous French atheist(who was a follower of Aristotle rather than Jesus),died in1778 Before dying he said the Bible and Christians faith would not be believed in one hundred years.On the 100th anniversary of his statement,The Geneva Bible Society in Switzerland bought Voltaire's printing press and house and started to print Bible from there.Two Hundred and six years after Voltaire,the Pres. of the u.s ANNOUNCED THE YEAR 1983 S "The YEAR OF THE BIBLE."WHY WOULD THE PRES, OF A big nation like the u.s proclaim the Bible as mankind's greatest source of knowledge?

Domingo de Guzman was a Spanish preacher who went to southern France to oppose the Albigensian heresy which was spreading rapidly.In 1208,while he was praying at a chapel in Prouille,Mary appeared to him And gave him the Rosary and urged him to preach the Rosary to all people as a remedy against heresy and sin.The factual basis for this series of events is questionable.Nonetheless,Domingo founded an order of preaching friars who went on to halt the Albigensian heresy and establish monasteries all over the world.The order is commonly referred to as the Dominicans.

The Virgin herself came to Fatima to sanctify it in the eyes of Christianity.
In order to renew habits which are perhaps awaiting a vigorous impulse from us,with manly devotion,with the conviction of one who knows its importance,its greatness,its power,recite each day,By fervently praying the Rosary,meditating on the life,passion,and death of Jesus,the person slowly experiences conversion of the mind.Conversion of the mind leads to conversion of the heart.When the heart begins to understand,it will always long to seek God and please Him in every way possible.The more we meditate om the mysteries of the Rosary,the more we come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus.

There have been uncounted apparitions of Mary reported since the third century.Few have received recognition by the bishop of the diocese in which they occured.

DO CATHOLICS WORSHIP MARY?

First of all, Catholics consider that injunction against idolatry part of the First Command, not the Second.The Ten Commandments are nowhere numbered in the text of Scripture, so Catholics,Protestants, and Jews each number them differently.Catholics consider "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.."to be one command, while most Protestants divide them into two.

Second,the Baltimore Catechism, a Catholic religious text used for decades to educate Catholic Children in the Faith,says,"We do not pray to the crucifix or to the images of Christ and of the saints, but to the persons of whom they remind us"(l,q.96). This is the official teaching of the Church; we do not worship, we use them to remind us of our beloved family in heaven,even as you might look at a photo of a relative when he or she is far away.We are familiar with that commandment and would never pray to a plaster statue, since the statue itself can do nothing.

Why did King Hezekiah destroy the bronze serpent?(2Kings18:4)

It is just because in his day of rampant idolatry some Isaraelites had decided to worship it. This was a clear misuse of the statue,since God never intended for it to be an object of worship (that would have violated the First Commandment!). Yet the fact that king Hezekiah had to destroy the bronze serpent does not change the fact that God had commanded its construction in the first place,used it as a vehicle of his healing power, and that Jesus said it was a type of himself (John3:14-15).

The difference between adoration and veneration.The Church has never taught that acts of adoration,the reverence and glory due to God alone, are to be given to Mary, but only an exceptional veneration because of her unique association with Jesus Christ in his work of redeeming humanity.
We must avoid misunderstandings that can arise through the use of the term "worship". Traditionally,"worship" has been used for both adoration and veneration, and the word itself simply indicates a worthiness of some type of honor or dignity (from the Old English, weorthscipe). Although prudence may encourage reserving the term worship exclusively for adoration because of the potential misunderstandings of today,the classical use of the term refers to a broader kind of honor and,hence,cannot be viewed as an example of giving adoration to Mary when the expression "worship of Mary" is used.

In regards to the "worshipping" of Marian statue and images, again we must distinguish .First of all, within the authentic Catholic Church there is no adoration given to Marian images(an act mistakenly perceived to model the pagan worship worship of idols). A painting or a statue on an office desk,or a statue of Mary serves the same purpose as a family photo on an office desk, or statue of a public hero or statesman elected in a town square.The image serves as a reminder of the person the image represents,and there by possesses a symbolic or representational value,not a true personal value in itself.

The biblical basis of Mary's intercession

We see a biblical example of Mary's intercession at the wedding feast in Cana (Jn2:1-11). Mary notices that the couple has run out of wine,so she asks Jesus to help them(v.2). Jesus agrees to do it, only he wants to keep it quiet because it is not yet time for him to manifest himself as Messiah (v.4). So she tells the servants to do what ever Jesus tells them to (v.5), and he performs the Miracle.Jesus helped that young couple because his Mother interceded for them!As she said on earth, she continues to do in heaven, and if he listened to her then,surely he will listen to her requests now.

Some Protestants object to this view and argue that the wedding at cana episode does not prove Mary's intercession;she asked for something that Jesus did not want to give.
I f he did not want to give it then why did he perform the miracle?He is the Sovereign Lord God; he does not have to answer any request.which is against his will.Obviously,his words to Mary did not indicate a rejection of her request,and she,knowing him very well,understood that.
In Jn 8:1-11 A woman caught in Adultery. we also called her "woman".

Can we bypass Jesus by asking Mary?
No, we ask Mary to ask Jesus for what we need,even as Protestant may ask their pastor or friend to "pray for them." Mary's intercession for us is like that of Christians on earth.she is essentially a "prayer warrior" --the greatest prayer warrior, for she intercedes for everyone in the world.

GOD IS AT WORK IN HISTORY

IT IS a remarkable fact that in contrast to the three "religion of the Book" (Judaism,Christianity, and Islam), the great religions of the world float in a kind of a- historical limbo,without reference to solid historical events as their basis and essential content.Hinduism,for example,is made mostly of a pantheon of gods and of a method to escape suffering and rebirth.Buddhism is likewise basically a method to escape suffering through detachment from all cravings.These two religions have their individual scriptures and doctrines,but these have very little historical content.Zen is only a Japanese school of Buddhism.It,too,is a method(a mental discipline) to attain enlightenment.Shintoism,the native religion of Japan, is largely a method of ceremonial purity.
In contrast to these religions and their other counterparts,Christianity does not stem from a-temporal myths.Nor does it subsist on philosophical speculations.It rests on historical facts-namely,the fact that God spoke to us at definite times and place in history, "in time past...through the prophets, and in these last days through a son"(Heb.1:1-2). Nothing could be less mythological or speculative than such a cluster of names,dates,and places.Catholic is historical,If nothing else.Its framework is history,as well as its contents.

JESUS EXTRA ORDINARY CLAIMS

SOME NON- CHRISTIANS ,no doubt impressed by the fact that more than a billion humans profess to live by the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth and to accept him as Son of God in unique sense,are ready to rank Jesus among the other great founders of world religions (Buddha,Mohammed,Confucius,etc.). and consider him "a great man."Naturally,they stop short of calling him the Son of God,since that would require the leap of faith,a leap they are not prepared to take. And so, in a sort of gesture of goodwill they concede that, if Jesus, he was not the supernatural figure he claimed to be,he was at least "a great man."

Now these non- Christians, while not being aware of it, are in fact making one of the silliest statement one can make about Jesus. Because,if they ever read the gospels just once, they would constantly be met with extraordinary claims on the part of Jesus, claims which they would immediately dismiss or ridicule if they heard them on the lips of anybody else.Especially in John's gospel,Jesus' claims about his person,his mission and his nature, are simply stupendous.Who else,apart from megalomaniacs,ever said:" I am the bread of life"(Jn11:25)," I am the way,the truth,and the life"(Jn14:6)?who else ever claimed that no one can go to God except through his mediation(Jn14:6), that he and God are one(Jn14:9)? A person making such claims can only be one of three things:liar,lunatic, or Lord.

In J6:60-69 WE OBSERVE HOW THE JEWS ARE BROUGHT TO FACE THE ALTERNATIVES OF THIS Trillemma.Most of them opt for one of the first two alternatives:Jesus is an impostor or he is out of his mind,they think.Only the twelve opt for the third possibility:"We are convinced you are God's holy one,"say Peter in the name of the group.

Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ is a very important person and that's why we venerate her. She will never be an obstacle in praying to God because she helps in every way possible. She intercede for all.

When anti-Catholics study the writings of the Protestant Reformers on Mary,the Mother of Jesus, they will find that the Reformers accepted almost every major Marian doctrines of the Catholic Church and considered these doctrines to be both scriptural and fundamental to the historic Christian Faith.

Protestants Repent
The cover page of Time Magazine proclaims:"Hail Mary". Catholics have long revered her, but now Protestants are finding their own excuses to celebrate the Mother of Jesus.The writer, David Van Biema, in his long says,"She was there at the cross.Let Protestants seldom talk about Jesus' mother...but they are starting to know. "500 years, the "Bible alone" Christians attacked Mother Mary!Catholic were accused of "too much love for Mary." She was considered an obstacle in praying directly to God.But now,with evidence,Van Biema exposes a huge number of Protestant pastors.Presbyterians,evangelical and liberal Protestants, who keep a deep persona devotion to Mary.Now ,Icons of Mary are placed on the walls of Protestant divinity schools.

Justin the Martyr,the close associate of apostles wrote, in 155A.D: " And this food is called among us Eucharist, of which no one is allowed to partake but he who believes that the things that we teach are true, and who are washed in the bath of forgiveness of sins and regeneration.We should not receive it as a common drink or a common food;but in like manner as Jesus Christ Our Savior."

TRINITY
Those who deny the Divinity of Jesus are compelled top doing the Divine nature of the Holy Spirit.For them, "The Trinity of God" is beyond human understanding So they deny it.They just forget the fact that God, who created man, can never be a slave of human intelligence.The Holy Spirit is considered only as an angel or one of the seven spirits.They, try to confuse "Trinity" as "Tri-theism"(three-gods) and criticize Catholics 'Trinitarians'

As we all Know, Divine Revelation is explained through the centuries by some theological terms.Although they are insufficient to explain the truth revealed in depth.We can never find the word 'Bible' in an authentic translation of the Bible.The word "Bible" itself is a term that appeared in the 4th century .But we believe in it.Similarly, we don't see the word "Trinity" in the Bible. but to explain the Divine Mystery revealed to us about God the Father,the Son and The Holy Spirit, we use the term "Trinity."
The word 'trinity' was first used by St. Theophilus of Antioch in his book 'Epistle to Antolycus' in A.D 180 (Greek: triados). Remember,at that time there was no 'bible' in the Church. In fact, the term 'Trinity' is more ancient than the word 'bible' itself.Before the formation of the Bible,those who worked behind the creation of a canonical book 'bible' believed and accepted 'The Trinity' as God's revealed truth handed over too them from the apostles.After some years,Tertullian(A.D 160-250) used Latin term for Trinity (trinitas) in his work 'Modesty'. he wrote:"Trinity of the one Divinity; Father,Son, ad Holy Spirit"(chap.22).

The concept of the Trinity does not fit the frame work of common logic,nor can it be fully analyzed by our intellect.But this is no reason to say it is the invention of theologians.To declare that the one and only God has made himself known as Father,Son ,Holy Spirit is simply an attempt to define what the Scriptures teach (Jn10:29-30;Acts 5:3-4).

To commit our lives to this triune God is to begin to see with the eye of faith His greatness as our Creator,Redeemer, and Sustainer.Doesn't it make sense that the One we worship, and to whom we entrust our lives,should be vastly greater than our limited understanding?

since there was yet no official declaration on this matter, bishops felt themselves free to reflect and teach doctrine that they believed were true.One of them was Arch bishop Arius of Constantinople.Taking his cue from the prologue of john's gospel, where the Son was inferior to the Father, This started a controversy that ended in the Council of Nicea, where the gathered bishops with the blessing of the Pope,Proclaimed that the Father,the Son, and the Holy Spirit are equal:one God in three divine persons, and where THE WORD "TRINITY" was officially used to described the Christian God.

The problem that was resolved in the Council of Nicea was caused by a misinterpretation of Scriptures.it would be wrong than to believe that the Bible solves all problems and clears all doctrines. in this case, it was a misreading of the New Testament that sparked the controversy, and thus, the Church has to step in to solve the issue through the Pope with the council of bishops. The word "Trinity" is a product of the authority of the teaching Church.

the problem with such thinking is that we cannot clearly grasp the truth of our salvation without having some understanding of the Trinity.Our salvation began with the Father's loving Plan, was made possible Jesus' atoning death on the cross to provide forgiveness and cleansing and is carried out by the Holy Spirit transforming work in us.

THE THINGS THAT DEFILE

"Nothing that enter one from outside can defile that person;but the things that come out from within are what defile."---The Jews observe purity laws as -external signs of their divine election.Aside from laws concerning physical cleanliness (Lv15:5;2Sm11:2), Jews also strictly follow dietary laws that dictate the consumption only of animals that cannot be eaten(Lv11). Jesus openly challenges this belief and the evangelist comments here that Jesus declares all food clean.No food defiles or exalts a person before the presence of God.What counts is the heart, the center of human personality which determines all one's actions.it is the place where a person enters into real dialogue with God.it is here that good or evil is hatched.Jesus points out that from an evil heart come wicked intentions,impure desires, the seed of manifold crimes that reinforce or affirm human selfishness in short,anything that renders a person a wretched creature.By devout observance of dietary and purification laws a person may be externally clean,but if deep in his heart he harbors uncleanliness by his wickedness, he remains unpleasing to God.Cultic observances could indeed become a masquerade for the real state of the heart. blood was held by the Jews to be the seat of life and therefore sacred. Hence the often-repeated absolute prohibition in the Bible to eat blood(Gn9:4;Lv3:7;7:26-27;17:10-14;19:26;Dt12:16,23;15;23)
eight times in the Pentateuch alone!This prohibition was based on the conviction that blood is the quasi-divine substance.it is full of life, and life is the prerogative of God, who is often called"the living God" (Dt5:26;Jos3:10;1Kgs17:26,36;etc). Eating blood would be tantamount to eating God--something which represented a blasphemous notion to Hebrew piety.
We must not lose sight of this cultural!religious background, if we are to fully understand the Jews reaction to the claims of Jesus as formulated in Jn6:51-58 passage.Those Jews have from their childhood been rigidly trained to think that drinking blood is blasphemous.Such a sin entails automatic and perpetual excommunication.As stated clearly by the Book of Leviticus:"Every person who partakes of any blood shall be cut off from his people"(7:27). And here Jesus demands of his followers that they drink his blood!

Christ's Resurrection is an object of faith, a transcendent intervention of God in creation and history.It is good to be a student of history and science, but do you also have room for God's interventions that transcend the Physical sense?

An ancient faith Actually,doctrines are defined formally only when there is a controversy that needs to be cleared up or when the magisterium (the Church in its office as teacher;cf.Mt28:18-20;1Tm3:15,4:11) thinks the faithful can be helped by particular emphasis being drawn to some already-existing belief.The definition of the Immaculate Conception was prompted by the latter motive; it did not come about because there were widespread doubts about the doctrine.in fact, the Vatican was deluged with requests from people desiring the doctrine to be officially proclaimed.Pope Pius Ix, who was highly devoted to the Blessed Virgin,hoped the definition would inspire others in their devotion to her.
So, the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mother was not a new finding when it was officially proclaimed by Pope Pius Ix in 1854.This was an ancient faith of Christians,believed and accepted seriously for hundreds of years before it became an official doctrine.
In the early centuries of the Christian tradition,there was a common acceptance that Mother Mary is pure and sinless.Christian writers,who lived just after the apostles and before the creation of the Bible,defended that faith though it was not considered official.
The contemporary writers of the apostolic times Irenaeus of Lyons considered Mary as "Holy" "Innocent", "Most Pure", "Intact", and Immaculate" (Iranaeus,Lyons,140-202).
Ephraem,Syria, who lived 306-373; and ambrose of Milan,373-397,called Mary in explicit language;Mary free from original sin(Augustine,Hippo,345-340 to Anselm).
Origen calls her worthy of God,immaculate of the immaculate,most completesanctity,perfect justice,neither deceived by the persuasion of the serpent, nor infected with his poisonous breathings (Hom.i indersia A.D 248);
Ambrose says she is incorrupt, a virgin immune, through grace from evry stain of sin Sermo xxii in Ps,(xviii A.D 358);
Theodotus os Ancyra terms her a virgin innocent, without spot,void of culpability,holy in body and in sou, a lily springing among throns,, untaught the ILLs of Eve nor was there any communion in her of light with darkness, and when not yet born, she was consecrated to God (Orat. in S.Dei Genitr.)

The first apparition of the Lady of Lavang was noted in 1798, when the persecution of Vietnamese Catholic began.Many Catholics from the nearby town of Quang Tri sought refuge in the deep forest of Lavang.A great number of these people suffered form the bitter cold weather,lurking wild beasts, jungle sickness, and starvation.At night, they often gathered in small groups to say the rosary and to pray.Unexpectedly, one night they were visited by an apparition of a beautiful Lady cape, holding a child in her arms,with two angel at her sides.The people recognized the Lady as Our Blessed Mother.

After the crucifixion,resurrection and ascension of Jesus, his Apostles began to spread the message he left through the Roman empire.One of those Apostles, James(the Greater),reportedly travelled as far west as spain to the village of Sagossa in north east Spain.While James was there, he became disheartened because of the failure of his mission.Tradition holds that while he was deep prayer Jesus Blessed Mother appeared to him and give him a small wooden statue of herself and a column of Jasper wood and instructed him to build a church in her honor.
"This place is to be my house, and this image and column shall be the title and altar of the temple that you, shall build." The jasper column and the wooden statue can still be seen on special occasions at a church that houses them.About a year after the apparition,James arranged to build a small chapel in Mary's honor, the first church ever dedicated to the honor of the Virgin Mary.After James returned to Jerusalem, he was executed by Herod Agrippa in about 44 A.D., the first apostles to be martyred for his faith.several of his disciples took his body and returned it for final burial in Spain.The local queen, observing several of the miracles performed by James body to be buried in a local field.Eight centuries later, a cathedral in honor of St.James was erected after his gravesite was rediscovered by a local hermit. The hermit found the burial site after noticing an unusual star formation.The site for the cathedral was called Compostella (starryfield) and it is a major pilgrimage site to this day.

Though Origen lived an exemplary life and was tortured and nearly killed for being a Christian, his teaching s were officially condemned by the Church.Origen could not accept the existence of hell and eternal punishment. He shared the same idea of our contemporaries who see hell as a direct contradiction of God's mercy and compassion .They say that eternal punishment contradicts eternal happiness,for how can a person who is in heaven enjoy his stay there, Knowing that a beloved lies in torment in hell? If the suffering of a beloved already disturbs us now, we can imagine the effect of eternal punishment of our beloved Thus for some people, hell cannot exist side by side with heaven.Origen proposed an interesting solution.let Jesus die for the second time in behalf of souls in hell, saving all those who have been condemned eternally.

Jesus death was a once -and-for-all act and cannot anymore be repeated.The souls in hell cannot be saved because they themselves did not want to be saved.They refuse to love and to learn how to love;instead they prefer to live in hatred and bitterness.That is their option and God respects their wish.

The angels,like ourselves,have free will.Some of them turn away from God;we, humans,can also reject grace in our turn.The beginning of hell is to listen to the serpent who urges us to decide for ourselves what is good or evil without reference to God Satan knows, if we do not,that there is no goodness or beauty or truth or love that are not sparks cast off from the pure Source of Goodness and Beauty and Love and Truth that God is. We can no more create moral goodness on pour own than we can create moral goodness of honesty or integrity or chastity exists outside and beyond anything we may elect,vote for,or decide.

Pope John Paul II has brilliantly analyzed this objectivity of moral goodness in his Encyclical, The Splendor of Truth (VERITATIS SPLENDOR). WHAT HE INSISTS ON, IF NOT IN THESE EXACT WORDS, is the moral law, like the law of gravity does not come from our consensus.it does not come from earth but from heaven.We are free to accept or reject it but we are not free to accept or reject the consequences if we leave this world locked into ego,our choice of self apart from God becomes final,irrevocable, and complete.This is known as hell.

Many people raise emotional difficulties here. They ask,how could a good God condemn souls to hell?They have an image of God as an almighty hanging Judge.They do not understand that God condemns souls to hell in much the same way that he "condemns" bodies to destruction if they choose to digest poison, or if they abuse their system with alcohol or drugs.We live in a cosmos, not a chaos. if we choose disorder,disorder we shall have.

In some way the teaching on hell is one of the easiest truths of the Faith to accept, not the hardest.The reason is what we see previews of hell all around us. There are many who not only do evil.They love evil.They go around "Looking for trouble" as if rage,violence, and hatred are the atmosphere they must exist in.The evil we refuse to repent begins to destroy us deep with in.This is the "hell" we refuse to come out of, no matter what grace of light God may send.

Proof from reason

There is an incongruity in the supposition that the flesh, from which the flesh of the Son of God was to be formed, should ever have belonged to one who was the slave of that arch-enemy, whose power he came on earth to destroy.The axiom developed by the most famous writer of Mariology and a theologian, Duns Scotus, states:"DECUIT, POTUIT, ERGO FECIT," THAT MEANS, IT WAS BECOMING THAT THE Mother of the Redeemer should have been free from the power of sin and from the first moment of her existence; God could give her this privilege, therefore he gave it to her Again it is remarked that a peculiar privilege was granted to the prophet Jeremiah and to St.John the Baptist.They were sanctified in their mother's womb, because of their preaching they had a special share in the work of preparing the way for Christ.Consequently, some much higher prerogative is due to Mary.Scotus says that "the perfect Mediator must, in some one case, have done the work of mediation most perfectly.which would not be unless there was some one person at least, in whose regard the wrath of God was anticipated and not merely appeased."

The meaning of preventive redemption

We believe that Mary needed redemption, although she was never subject to original sin. Nor did she have an "Obligation" to contract it; there can be no obligation to commit sin. We can merely say that she would have been in original sin, that is,she would have been born without grace, were it not for the preventive redemption.The word "preventive" means anticipatory:the grace she received at her conception was given in anticipation(Latin praevenire) of Christ's merits, which earned that grace.

Didn't Mary herself admit that she needed a Savior?

It is clear from the gospel that Mary admits she is saved by God but it does not contradicts the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception as some Protestants believe! LK1:46-47, we read: And Mary said," My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savoir." We have seen that Mary needed to be perfectly sinless in order to bear Jesus. Did she attain that sinlessness through her own human efforts?No. she was redeemed by her son----as was all the rest of humanity.She needed God's grace.And in order to be, and remain,sinless she needed that grace before her own birth.In LK1:46 Mary speaks of God as her savior, but she speaks in the present tense.She does not say "God, who will be my Savior."It clarifies that she has already been redeemed before the birth of Jesus.
In the above--mentioned passage Mother Mary bases her words upon an Old Testament passage which clearly states that she is already saved from sin:
Isaiah61:10 "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my Soul shall exult in my God;for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has clothed, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."
As virtually every educated 1st century Jew would have recognized, in echoing this passage, Mary clearly considered that God had already clothed her with the garments of salvation, and covered her with the robe of righteousness.Her sin had already been wiped away.

Immaculate Conception and misconception continuation.

In the Old Testament we can notice the insistence of God to keep the womb of the mother of his Chosen ones most pure and perfect.
before the birth of Samson, the Judge of Israel, God wanted his mother to be pure.This pure state of the mother during the pregnancy was repeated many times, in the Bible for emphasis.
For the birth of God as a human being, God was interested in the condition of the mother's womb.

In the New Testament it is angel Gabriel from heaven that reveals the "Immaculate state" of Mother Mary.
In LK1:28 Mary was greeted by the angel:"full of grace" or as others translate,"highly favored one."(The original word used here in Greek is CHARITOO.) This salutation of the Angel Gabriel is different from the usual angelic greetings. it indicates that Mary was exceptionally "highly favored with grace"(Greek: charitoo is used only twice in the New Testament, in LK 1:28 for Mary-- before Christ's redemption; and Eph 1:6 for Christ's grace to us-- after Christ's redemption). It means the grace that was given to mankind after the death of Jesus was already given to Mary in advance or before the birth of Jesus.Catholic theologians call it "Preventive Redemption."
The traditional translation," full of grace," is better than the one found in many recent versions of the New Testament, which gives something along the lines of "highly favored daughter." Mary was indeed a highly favored daughter of God, but the Greek implies more than that (and it never mentions the word for "daughter"). The grace given to Mary is at once permanent and of a unique kind. Kecharitomene is a perfect passive participle of charitoo, meaning "to fill or endow with grace."Since this term is in the perfect tense, its past indicates that Mary was graced in the past but with continuing effects in the present.So, the grace Mary enjoyed was not a result of the angel's visit.In fact,Catholics hols, it extended over the whole of her life, from Conception onward.She was in a state of sanctifying grace from the first moment of her existence.
In other words, the English translation, "Hail, full of Grace,"or Hail, Favored One," Is based on the original Greek of LK1:28,Chaire Kecharitomene, a phrase which can most literallt be translated:"Rejoice, you who have been graced." The latter word, Kecharitomene, is the passive voice, present perfect participle of the verb."to grace" in the feminine gender, vocative case;therefore the Greek syntax indicates that the action of the verb has been fully and completed in the past, with results continuing into the future.The perfect meaning of this passage is that the subject (Mary) was graced fully and completely at sometime In the past, and continued in that fully graced state. The angel's salutation does not refer to the incarnation of Christ in Mary's womb, as he proceeds to say:"you shall conceive in your womb..."(LK1:31).

THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF MARY

"Mary was born without sin."Is that written In the Bible?Many believe that it is a new teaching of the Catholic church! Mary, the beloved Mother of Jesus, is the most praised and the most criticized woman in history.The Catholic Church venerates her as the Divine Mother of God but anti-Catholics think of her as an obstacle in approaching Jesus directly! The teachings of the Roman Catholic Church on Mary became the most misunderstood beliefs that keep the mystical body of Christ still divide!

What do we mean by the Immaculate Conception?This doctrine states that from the very beginning of her origin,Mother Mary was privileged to be kept out of original sin or its stain ("immaculate" means without stain) because of the special grace she received from God.This centuries- old doctrine was officially defined by Pope Pius ix in the Constitution Ineffabilis Deus of 8 Dec.1854. Pius ix pronounced and defined that:

"According, by the holy and undivided Trinity, for the glory and adornment of the Virgin Mother of God, for the exaltation of the Catholic religion, by the authority of Jesus Christ.Our Lord, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and our own, we declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instant of her Conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all faithful."

GN3:15" I will put enmity between you and woman, between your offspring and her; she will strike at your hand. From the early centuries of Christianity.this was considered as a prophecy about Mary and her son Jesus (Iraneus of Lyons 140 Ad). This enmity is nothing but mutual hatred between Mary and sin, between Christ and sin. IT CAN NEVER BE TRUE THAT Mary also is stained by sin.As she was the Woman foretold in Genesis,Jesus from the cross mentioned Mary as "woman".
JUST AS THE FIRST WOMAN-Eve- became the mother of all the living , so the woman by the cross-Mary- becomes the mother of the new believing community represented by the Beloved Disciple.

After all, she is the most precious gift we received from the deathbed of Jesus.From the cross when Jesus uttered,"Behold your mother"(Jn19:22). She became not only the mother of John,but of all whom He redeemed through that crucifixion.She is the mother of the Church- the mystical body of Jesus.

Luke1:31,34- The angel tells Mary that she "will" conceive (using the future tense). Mary responds by saying, "How shall this be?" Mary's response demonstrates that she had taken a vow of lifelong virginity by having no intention to have relations with a man.If Mary did not take such a vow of lifelong virginity, her question would make no sense at all(for we can assume she know how a child is conceived) she was a consecrated Temple virgin as was an acceptable customs of the times.
Luke2:41-51- In searching for Jesus and finding him in the temple, there is never any mention of other siblings.
John 19:26-27- From the cross Jesus commits the care of Mary to John and it would have been unthinkable for Jesus to commit the care of his mother to a friend if he had brothers.
Anti- Catholics insist that "brethren of the Lord" must be interpreted in the strict sense.They most commonly make two arguments based on Mt1:25"...and he did not know her until(Greek:heos,also translated into English as "Till") she brought forth her first born son." According to them,the natural inference from "Till" is that Joseph and Mary afterward lived together as husband and wife, in the usual sense, and had several children. otherwise, why would Jesus be called"first born"? Doesn't that mean there must have been at least a "second-born", perhaps a "third-born." and so on? But they are using a narrow, modern meaning of "until", instead of the meaning of "until", instead of the meaning it had when the Bible was written.In the Bible,it only means that some action did not imply that the action did happen later, which is the modern sense of the term.In fact, If the modern sense is forced on the Bible, some ridiculous meanings result.
For example:"Michal the daughter of Saul had no children till the day of her death"(2Sm.6:23). Are we to assume she had children after death?
The book of Deut.says that no one knew the location of his grave" until this present day"(Deut34:6,knox). But we know that no one has known since that day either.There are hundreds of examples in the Bible that nothing can be proved from the use of the word "Till" in Mt1:25. The nu American Bible gives a better sense of the verse:"He had no relations with her at any time before she bore a son"(new American Bible)," He had not known her when she bore a son."

The Protoevangelium of James, which was written probably less than sixty years after the conclusion of Mary's earthly life(around A.D 120),when memories of her life were still vivid in the minds of many.According to the world-renowned patristics scholar,Johannes Question:"The principal aim of the whole writing (Protoevangelium of James) is to prove the perpetual and inviolate virginity of Mary before,in,and after the birth of Christ"(Patrology,1:120-1). To begin with,the Proto evangelium records that when Mary's birth was prophesied, her mother, St. Anne, vowed that she would devote the child to the service of the Lord, as samuel had been by his mother(1sm1:11). Mary would thus serve the Lord at the Temple, as women had served for centuries(1sm2:22),and as Anne the prophetess did at the time of Jesus' birth (Lk2:36-37). A life of continual, devoted service to the Lord at the Temple meant that Mary would not be able to live the ordinary life of a child- rearing mother. Rather, she was vowed to a life of perpetual virginity.

The Catholic Church gives high respect and veneration to Mother Mary, at the same time it objects women to be ordained priests!it has become a subject of confusion in diffirent Protestant sects who ordain women as their priests and ministers.What really was the practice of the early Church that was handed over from the apostles?

*In fact the Bible clearly shows us that Christ did not call any women as his apostles-The first Bishops of the church. yet Jesus was no respecter of social convention.He associated with tax collectors and prostitutes.He publicly disagreed with the pharisees.Is it therefore credible to believe that Christ didnt call woman to be his apostles only because of conventions of thetime,especially when most of the other religions of that time had priestesses themselves.

Old Testimonies about the Primacy of Peter

Early Christian writers who lived during the time of the apostles never considered a 'Bible' as their basis of faith.The Bible came only during the 4th Century.Before the Bible, there was a church which under united under the Primacy of Peter .Those who formed the Bible, including Jerome, the formator of the first Latin translation of the Bible 'Vulgate' in Jerusalem,defended this truth.

The early Christian heresies never questioned the resurrection.What baffled more the early Christians was Jesus' death. Can a God die?Some heresies theorized that only Jesus the man died on the cross, while his divine nature remained undying.Some early Christians in their effort to understand better the Lord, subjected him to an operation that can never happen:divide him between his divine and human natures.The result was confusion.

The Resurrection the Center of Our Faith

Our times ask for historical proofs on the resurrection when are confronted by these questions our answer should center on the four gospels and the entire New Testament as the historical documents that attest to the resurrection were the testemonies of the apostle that they had seen the risen Lord and its effect on their Lives.

When Paul proclaims that the resurrection is the center of our faith and in vain do we believe if Christ did not rise from the dead, the apostle also confesses that he has lost all his fears because of the resurrection.He is a free man because he no longer lives but Christ lives in him(Gal2:3). His belief in the risen Lord is basically a relationship of life; he receives from him his enthusiasm to love.to hope,and to believe even though he is surrounded by forces of death,hatred, and falsehood.

Jesus:God Is Powerful but He is Not a General

When we say that Jesus is the fullness of God's revelation of himself, we are first affirming that we should read the Old Testament through the light of his person.The letter to the Hebrews explains:"Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets but in these last days, he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the universe.He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's being.."(Heb1:1-3). Jesus, being the exact imprint of God's being,is the final revelation of God. about himself.If there has been a miscommunication in the Old Testament, God finally resolved to correct it by sending his Son so that we have created about him,that is the images of God created by the Israelites, one of which pictured him as a fighting general.The Old Testament should not be interpreted without the New Testament.Only the person of Jesus can give light to the confusion created in the Old Testament.

God in Jesus finally said that he was not a war-freak general who ordered the massacres and killings in the Old Testament.He did this not by words but by his actions in Jesus, we find a God who preferred to be killed than to kill,who should his power not by shedding the blood of his enemies,but by his own blood. with Jesus, we can finally say that God is a God of love who has nothing to do with the violence of the Old Testament.God was really an innocent victim of the Israelites' imagination.

Peter is the Shepherd

In St.John21:15-19, we find clear scriptural evidence that Peter was commissioned by Jesus to care for His flock."Simon,son of John..shepherd my sheep!Simon, son of John...feed my Sheep." We know Jesus is the good shepherd(Jn10:11) but here, He gives authority of the shepherd to Peter. So we call Peter and his successors, the Pope-Supreme Pastor of the Universal Church.
"Pope" means father.It is an affectionate title that the apostles used to express their responsibility to the faithful.St.Paul calls himself as 'father'(1Cor4:14-16)"You are my beloved children...For I become your father in Christ."

The Pope Infallibility is not Impeccability

The infallibility of the Pope is more controversial and most criticized because anti- Catholics create an artificial confusion by mixing the infallibility does not mean that the Pope will not make personal mistakes,but refers to the trust of the Church in the promise of Jesus to decide on matters pertaining to faith and morals.
In Mt28:20,"Teaching them(all nations), to observe all that I have Commanded you.And behold, Iam with you always, until the end of age."
The Holy Spirit, in matters of divine revelation,guides the Church.That is why the Bible itself is formed and Kept out of errors.Jn14:16-17 says "And i will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of Truth....it remains with you, and will be in you."

The official teaching of the Pope, together with the other bishops in the universal Church, is infallible as it is with the guidance of the Holy Spirit to the 'fullness of truth.'Jn16:12-13 supports this fact:" I have much to tell you,but you cannot bear it now.But when He comes, the spirit of truth,He will guide you to the fullness of truth."
Words like 'Bible', 'purgatory', 'Immaculate Conception', and 'Trinity' are used to explain the development of revelation It does not mean that they were newly created by the Catholic Church.In Genesis, Adam named all the things that were created by God, but it does not mean that Adam created all these things, he just named them.

THE MANY FORMS OF ASSAULT AGAINST THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND HER TEACHINGS ARE REALLY PROOFS THAT SHE PERFORMS THE WORK OF GOD IN JESUS CHRIST THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

In times when Roman Catholic are easily confused by the many contradictory assertions of different denominations,novelists and even those who pretend to be bible scholars. The historian Eusebius, who lived in Caesarea in 265-340AD, IN HIS' church history' writes:"After the martyrdom of Paul and of Peter,Linus was the first to obtain the episcopate of the church at Rome.Paul mentions him, when writing to timothy from Rome, in the salutation at the end of the epistle..In the second year of his reign,Linus, who had been bishop of the Church of Rome for twelve yrs, delevired his office to Anencletus..In the twelfh year of the same reign, Clement succeeded Anecletus..after the latter had been bishop of the church of Rome for twelve years."

This unbroken chain of successors continues and reaches to Pope Benedict xvi the 265th successor of Peter.The historical evidence of this succession is more reliable than the 2000 years history of any other country or kingdom in the world today.Obedience to the Pope is obedience to Jesus, as the Holy Scriptures supports it.

Did Peter Have a Successor?

As the Bible says,Peter and the apostles appointed their successors through the imposition of hands.2tim1:16 says,"For this reason,I remined you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of hands."Apostle paul himself was ordained by imposition of hands in Church of Antioch(ACTS13:2-3).When Judas betrayed Jesus and committed Suicide,the apostles elected Mathias because"His office of over sight,let someone else Take"(Acts1:20). The apostolic succession was by election and the imposition of hands.

We have a clear historic evidence that the office of Peter was at Rome,where he became a martyr in 64AD.His office in Rome was succeeded by Linus.the 2nd Pope,(67-76AD) according to historians.In 96AD Pope clement sent a strong letter to the church at Corinth to resolve a dispute there.The bishop of Rome interfered in the problem of another church,showing his authority to do so.On his way to martyrdom in Rome in 110AD,Ignatius of Antioch praised the Church of Rome "stamped with the Father' name."

MARY THE EVER VIRGIN MOTHER

MK6:3Is he not the carpenter,the son of Mary,and the brother(adelphos)of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters (adelphoi) here with us?
FIRST,it is important to note that the Bible does not say that these. "brothers and sisters" of Jesus were children of Mary.
Second, the word for brother (or sister), adelphos(adelpha) in Greek, denotes a brother or sister, or near Kinsman.Aramaic and other Semetic languages could not distinguish between a blood brother or sister and a cousin of Jesus (the son of Elizabeth,cousin of Mary) would be called "a brother of Jesus." In plural,the word means a community based on identity of origin or life. Additionally,the word adelphos is used for.(1)male children of the same parents(Mt1:2);(2)male descendants of the same parents(Acts7:23);(3)male children of the same mother(Gal1:19);(4)people of the Same nationality(Acts3:17);(5)any man, a neighbor(Lk)10:29);(6)persons united by a common interest(Mt5:47);(7)persons united by a common calling(Rv22:9);(8)mankind(Mt25:40);(9)the disciples (Mt23:8);and(10)believers(Mt23:8).(From vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words,Thomas Nelson,The Publisher.)Lot,for example, is called Abraham's "brother"(Gn14:14),even though,being the son of Haran, Abraham' brother(Gen11:26-28),he was actually Abraham's nephew.Similarly,Jacob is called the "brother" of his uncle Laban(Geb29:15).Kish and Eleazar had were the sons of Mahli.Kish had sons of his own,but Eleazar had no sons,only daughters,who married their "brethren," the sons of Kish.These "brethren" were really their cousins(1Chr23:21-22).

Exodus13:2,12-Jesus is sometimes referred to as the "first-born"son of Mary.But "first-born" is a common Jewish expressions which only means the first child to open the womb.it has nothing to do with the mother having future children.
Ez44:2-Ezekiel prophesies that "no man shall pass through the gate by which the Lord entered the world." This is a prophecy of Mary's perpetual virginity.Mary remained a virgin before,during,and after the birth of Jesus.
We know that God has no mother in eternity, but when God the Son became human,he was born of the Virgin Mary(Mt1:16). So she is his mother in his incarnation.
Luke 1:43-Elizabeth's use of "Mother of my Lord"(in Hebrew ELIZABETH USED Adonai whic means Lord God) is the equivalent of "Hail Mary,Mother of God" which Catholics,Phil.independent Church. etc. pray in the rosary.The formula is simple:Jesus is a divine person,and this person is God.Mary is Jesus 'mother,so Mary is the mother God.(Mary is not just the Mother of Jesus' human nature-mothers are mother of persons,not natures).

If Mary is the mother of Jesus, and if Jesus is God,then Mary is the Mother of God.there is no way out of this logical syllogism,the valid form of which has been recognized by classical logicians since before the time of Christ

There are some anti-Catholics thinker who assert that Mary did not carry God in her womb,but only carried Christ's human nature.their teaching is a reinvention of a heresy from the fifth century known as Nestorianism,which runs aground on a fact that a mother does not merely carry the human nature of her child in her womb.Rather, she carries the person of her Child.women do not give birth to human natures;they give birht to persons.

The Appearance to the 500

The gospels narrate how the chief priests bribed the soldiers to tell stories that the apostles come to steal Jesus' Body in the cave.This story which circulated around Jerusalem did not progress because it did not stop the conversation of thousands during the first preaching of Peter in the Acts of the Apostles.

The disciple in the gospels narrated their own story before the resurrection.They were greatly discouraged;in fact,two of them were returning to their hometown of Emmaus thinking that Jesus' story had ended.The rest were hiding in a room,afraid of Jesus' enemies,whom they think might arrest them.This was their situation from Good Friday till Easter Sunday.They were a group gripped by fear.Despite Jesus' words before Good Friday that he would die and rise from the dead.nobody among his apostles took him seriously.Nobody remembered his promise of resurrection.

What made them lose their fears precisely was the resurrection.Though nobody had seen how the Lord rose from the dead,what was important was that they Met him,talked to him,ate with him,and walked with him.instantly,they became a courageous group of people who feared nobody,not even death.The transformation of the apostles was the most important historical proof of the resurrection.

Paul's first letters to the Corinthians contains the first list of "witness" who had seen the risen Lord;"I handed on to you as of first importance what i also received:that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures;that he appeared to Kephas,then to the twelve.After that,he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once,most of whom are still living though some have fallen sleep.After that he appeared to James,then to the apostles.Last of all,as to one born abnormally,he appeared to me(1cor15:3-8)

Jesus appearances to the apostles and the 500 disciples were events that led them to proclaim that Jesus is God.The resurrection surprised them;no one among them had the slightest hint that the man whom they accompanied for three years in the Valleys and plains of Palestine was God himself.The resurrection opened their minds and hearts to the fact that God became man,suffered and died,and rose from the dead.

Veneration of Saints

The saints and martyrs of the Catholic Church are those who lived the Bible heroically.(Not simply preachers.)By declaring someone as saint,the Church proclaims publicity that they practiced virtues in their life as taught by Jesus and all must try to imitate them.

In different Christian groups great preachers are considered as most anointed,but the Catholic Church considers those who practice gospel values in their life as most anointed!They are those who interpreted the Bible not only in words,but,in their very life!They are the heroes of the Church.

In 400 A.D St.Augustine taught that worship is always given to God as it is expressed in the Greek word 'Latria'.But the veneration of saints is considered 'dulia' which means 'honor' that we give to the saints and the angels.

The Bible says the Saints Are To Be Venerated

Saints are venerated as they reflect the glory of God.Jn17:20-23"The glory which you have given me, I have given to them."St.Paul says God honors those who are righteous.Rom2:4-11"For he will give every man according to his works.Those who patiently do good works,seek glory and honor to every one who does good".Rom13:1-7 instructs us to "respect to whom respect is due,honor to whom is due."

Is the Bible the Only Source of Salvation?

Will the BIBLE ALONE SAVE US?

It is obvious that before the Bible came, there was first the Church that collected the gospels and the writings of the apostles,decided what is inspired and what is not and these book did not come from the mountains but from the various Christian Communities that were already using and guarding them for their Eucharistic Celebrations and reflection.Some people have the illusion that these books were taken from certain caves, left there by the apostles.But this was not the case;all the books of the New Testament were used among the first Christian communities.they were never buried.


The "collecting and approving" of the books of the New Testament indicates the Church Teaching authority.What gave the Bible its final form was the work of this teaching authority, which we call "Tradition".

This Tradition has given the Church words like"The Trinity","three divine persons,"even the "Bible" itself?these words are not biblical but came out from the church's teaching authority.This Tradition continues that have guided Catholics in their personal and sicail decisions.

Trinity is a Hoax inc teaches TO THEIR MEMBERS.
The Mormons on the other hand,teach that the Son,the Holy Spirit, and the Father are three separated Gods.person and therefore, are three Separeted Gods. Non- Christian on the other hand,accuses Christianity of paganism because of its teaching on the Trinity.

The Definition of the Christian God as Trinity

The word"Trinity" did not come from Jesus.You search the Bible and you will never encounter Jesus defining God as a "Trinity". INC,DATING DAAN MORMONS and other cults and sects that deny this belief use this argument to prove that the Trinity was a mere invention of the Catholic Church.

The Church has existed for nearly 2000yrs and the question being brought out are not original.

Only God Can Save Us

If Jesus a superhuman person as the inc teaches,he will never be able to save us.The best he could do is to teach us but he cannot save us from death,redeem us from our sins and bring us to heaven.That is why, the first truth that a Christian must believe is that Jesus is God,and that as God's Son, he has revealed to us the way to the Father .As Jesus had said,he is the way,the truth,and the life and those who believe in him immediately come into contact with God.

while it is true that they did a lot of damage to us, but that what we also did to them when we hold religious events like the pista ng itim na nazareno and may more others..so,nakakatawa lang..kaniya-kaniyang panahon at araw lang yan ng pambubuwisit..minsan INC minsan Catolics..weather-weather lang yan taaga

Prayer rally or evangelical mission kahit ano pa yan dapat pinaplano nyo yan para nagiging maayos ng di kayo nakakaperwisyo ng kapwa, siguro naman karamihan sa myembro nyo e may pinag-aralan. 1 hour lang ang byahe ko from my office umabot ako ng 6 hours! Nakakaawa ang ibang walang masakyan naglalakad nagmamakaawa makasakay, nagpipilit kahit puno na mga sasakyan. Ito namang gobyerno naten para lang di sya masabihan na mahilig sa holiday, di man lang ginawang holiday kahit man lang sa mga studyante man lang. Nararamdaman nyo ba ang nararamdaman ng mga ordinaryong tao na bumoto sa inyo?

iglesia ni cristo is really inconsiderate and plain selfish. yeah, okay, you are having your EVANGELICAL MISSION. what do we f*cking care? you affected millions of people in a very bad way so i don't think anything evangelical was done tonight. i saw how commuters were suffering in search for a ride going home. many were stranded. i hope you inc thinks about the others next time they have events like this. if you really want to do something evangelical then help improve the situation of the country, instead of hogging the roads as if they are all yours. I AM SO ANGRY.

how long will this event last? will it end tonight? i hope it does. :( i was stuck in traffic a while ago, and missed my first class. on the way to school i wasn't able to ride the bus because inc rented almost all of them. travel time on the way home was doubled, again, because of this event. i don't see the point in holding such events in places where traffic will build up and cause other people trouble. anyone, please answer me, will the inc still be at the quirino grand stand tomorrow? :(

Bakit di nalang maghanap ng lugar na di makakaabala sa ibang tao. Dun sa me designated na parking talaga that can accomodate all. Instead of blocking a MAJOR road that affects so many people who really needs it. I think that they are very inconsiderate. I think highly of them but this time I am very dismayed. I believe that no matter what you do you remain aware that your life on earth is temporary and everyone here have as much right to use the same road as you do.
