After Migz Zubiri resigned from his Senate post last year to give way to Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III  (who had contested Zubiri's win since 2007), he's hoping that the former "will welcome him to the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial ticket." Zubiri plans to run for the Senate in 2013.

ABS-CBNNews.com, citing Zubiri's Mornings@ANC interview, revealed that "Zubiri urged Pimentel to let go of the past." He said: "Sa akin, wala na. Dapat mag-move on na tayo sa napakalaking bangungot ng 2007. (To me, it's over. We have to move on from the big nightmare of 2007) I believe we are both victims here. Even if was a beneficiary, I was an unwilling beneficiary. I didn't know anything about it. That's why I resigned from my post to show Koko that it's not my fault This is your post. You're the winner. I'm sorry. Let's move on. I'm appealing to him. Ilan lang kaming taga-Mindanao...mag-aaway pa kami? Dapat magkaisa kaming dalawa para sa kapakanan ng Mindanao (There are only a few of us from Mindanao [who got national positions]...do we still fight? The two of us have to unite for the sake of Mindanao)."

Just give Zubiri the benefit of the doubt. Didn't have a direct hand in the cheating that mired the '07 polls, or so he says. If his votes got padded in Maguindanao during those days, you don't question it right then and there. Else, you risk the prospect of getting chainsawed to pieces by the overlords down south during that period.

    Reading between the lines:

The former senator wants to use the same people who made him win the last election for the next so that's why he wants the investigation to go away / 'move on'.
