ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Days after the demolition attempt at the Silverio compound on Monday (April 23)—where one person was killed and 39 others were injured—another area in Parañaque City, the Tucuma Compound, is set to be demolished on Thursday, April 26.
GMA News Online, citing information from dzBB correspondent Sam Nielsen, reports that Tucuma Compound residents have prepared "stink bombs" to repel demolition teams. The report noted: "(They) placed human waste in plastic bags that they placed in a large drum, to throw at the demolition team."
GMA News Online quoted one of the Tucuma Compound residents, Ramil Asturias, who said, "Isip namin ang hindi nakakasakit (We want to repel them but we don't want to cause injuries)." Asturias explained that "families in the area have lived there for decades and it would be hard for them to find work if they are relocated."
