Informal settlers in Parañaque City compound prepare "stink bombs" to repel demolition teams

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Days after the demolition attempt at the Silverio compound on Monday (April 23)where one person was killed and 39 others were injuredanother area in Parañaque City, the Tucuma Compound, is set to be demolished on Thursday, April 26.

 

GMA News Online, citing information from dzBB correspondent Sam Nielsen, reports that Tucuma Compound residents have prepared "stink bombs" to repel demolition teams. The report noted: "(They) placed human waste in plastic bags that they placed in a large drum, to throw at the demolition team."

GMA News Online quoted one of the Tucuma Compound residents, Ramil Asturias, who said, "Isip namin ang hindi nakakasakit (We want to repel them but we don't want to cause injuries)." Asturias explained that "families in the area have lived there for decades and it would be hard for them to find work if they are relocated."

    Sino naman kaya ang mahihirapan maglinis kung sakaling magamit ang mga ito. sila sila rin naman. dapat dialogue sa pagitan ng mga leaders ng mga ito para magkaintindihan. tama ba?

    Nag effort pa talaga silang gumawa ng mga depensa nila. Ayaw nila umalis kasi mawalan din sila ng trabaho, malaking problema. Pero if relocation is the answer then, they should not protest instead look for alternative jobs.

    As long as politicos coddle these people for votes and to gain pogi points every time a scenario (demolition) crops up, the problem of squatting will persist. It'll take a lot of doing to relocate, house these people decently, but no one said it can't be done. It's time to take this city's self-respect back, if you know what i mean.

    Paano nila nasikmurang iprepare yung stink bombs in the first place?

    Saka sila mag-amok kung may maipakita silang pruweba na sila ay mayroong karapatang manirahan sa lupa na yon. Squatting na nga lang, sila pa ang galit.

    Hindi pa ba sapat na kabayaran ung pagpapatira ng libre ng napakatagal sa mga squatter sa lupa ng tunay na may-ari at sila ay mamemerwisyo pa?
    Bakit kailangang kunsintihin ang pagssquatter ng mga iyan na karaniwan ay pugad ng kriminalidad at illegal na gawain. Ang mga squatter ay walang karapatan na makinabang sa lupang kanilang kinamkam at hindi pinagpaguran. Ang mga squatter ang nagppangit ng imahe ng Pilipinas.
    Sana mawala na silang lahat...
