(SPOT.ph) In a flashback to the meme craze that gripped the Pinoy netizenry last February, the Department of Tourism has released a video over at YouTube that recaps the "greatest hits" of their viral campaign.
Created by BBDO Guerrero, the video opens with the line: "We asked people why it's more fun in the Philippines, and they answered." It then showcases some of the more popular versions of the meme, including "My Humps", starring Bohol's Chocolate Hills, "YouTube", with a surfer, and "Stretch Limos", featuring a large kalesa. The short video--it clocks in at around 30 seconds—ends with the kicker "What will you come up with?"; a callback to the ad campaign's viral, meme-it-yourself success.
The YouTube page credits the individual photographers for the slides, including noted travel photographers Gutsy Tuason and George Tapan. Blogger Azrael Coladilla, however, notes that the uncredited background music sounds eerily similar to Duck Sauce's "Barbra Streisand".
