(SPOT.ph) It seems A-gan Tea is a misnomer, we were pleasantly surprised to learn, when we discovered that the newly opened cafe serves not only tea, but also smoothies and coffee. Here, each drink promises to leave you with a sweet and happy disposition--a promise that they’ve made with no less than their name, as a means "happy disposition, and "gan means "sweet" in Chinese.
First established at the Feng Chia night market in Taiwan in 2006, A-gan Tea aims to cultivate the still-young tea-drinking culture in the Philippines. The tea cafe, which is situated in the Greenbelt 2 Park, is cozy enough to hang out in, with free WiFi. Chill out with the bestselling Bubble Milk Tea (P75), which has chewy white tapioca pearls, and just the right combination of milk and tea. For a fruity treat, take a sip of the Pear Fruit Tea (P100). It’s made from fresh pear fruit, and contains agar bits. You won’t doubt its freshness for a second because the aroma of the pear is so strong, and is made more refreshing by the taste of alpine tea. For those who like their tea with yogurt, try the Green Tea Yogurt (P85)--its tangy green tea taste is a great complement to the creaminess of the yogurt.
Or, go for something completely new and interesting with the Milk-Lid Selection, a delectable selection of drinks in six different flavors with a milky lid on top. Whether or not you are a sucker for chocolate, you’ll enjoy their chocolate drink, Milk-Lid Cocoa (P100), a smooth and creamy concoction with a little something extra (cocoa powder!) on top for ultimate chocoholics.
