DOJ Secretary Leila De Lima nominated to replace ousted Chief Justice Renato Corona

Published: Jun 12, 2012 - 10:25am

Marlon Ramos of The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports that Depart of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila de Lima was officially nominated Monday to replace ousted Chief Justice Renato Corona. Her nomination was submitted to the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) by the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) chapter in Zambales province.

Asked for her reaction to the nomination, De Lima told the Inquirer via text message that she was "honored and humbled" by it. However, she also added via text message: "But, as I always say, I will defer to [President Benigno Aquino’s] wisdom. My father’s advice is [to] keep my options open and follow what the President wants."

Question: Ask DOJ Secretary Leila De Lima what crime has Sonia Go committed for her to hold her DEPARTURE ORDER for 16 years today and continue everyday ? DOJ Secretary Leila De Lima TOOK BRIBERY to extend Sonia Go's SERIOUS ILLEGAL DETENTION upon my verified complaint dated and submitted 25 March 2011 to today, she CANNOT RESOLVE because she has no evidence to prejudice me that I committed a crime when Leila De Lima cannot find a crime committed. This is because I don't have political power with NO PUBLICITY for all Filipino to know, just a poor citizen with WILLING BRIBER to cover CAPITAL CRIME of Sonia Go's SERIOUS ILLEGAL DETENTION.

If De Lima's prerogative is to "follow what the President wants" then how can she be an impartial Chief Justice? Just goes to show that the impeachment trial was a futile exercise.

If De Lima gets to be Chief, what happens to checks and balances between judiciary, executive? Seems they're co-opting the independence of the judiciary this early by wanting to appoint someone beholden to Malacanang. It's the Palace's gameplan all along.. so they can facilitate the railroading a lot faster. The abnoys have come home to roost. The yellows must be lapping it up!

Wow!
