On Wednesday, March 6, Malacañang accused Princess Jacel Kiram, daughter of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, of using an alleged fake photo showing "Malaysian casualties."
A photo of the princess showing the allegedly fake photo has been circulating among media outfits. GMA News Online posted such a photo (see screenshot below) with this caption: "Princess Jacel Kiram, daughter of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, shows on Sunday a purported image of Malaysian casualties after a clash between Malaysian authorities and armed followers of Sultan Kiram in Lahad Datu, Sabah. A similar photo of the Princess appeared on the front page of the Philippine Star. After being alerted by readers, GMA News Online has verified that the image is fake, and most probably of dead Thai soldiers killed in Thailand in 2007. The image of the Thais has previously appeared elsewhere on the Internet."
