What’s worse than getting sunburn in Boracay? Getting fake money in Boracay!

Who says criminals from Metro Manila can’t go on a holiday there, too?

Virgilio L. Orquiola of the Philippines News Agency (PNA) reports that "police authorities in Boracay are on alert even as they warned businessmen over the reported spread of fake money in the island."

The PNA report, which was published on The Daily Tribune’s website, said that the warning was issued by the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC) following the arrest of a suspect who paid counterfeit money to souvenir shops near D'Talipapa.

The report noted: "The suspect was identified as Nassief Rominnimbang, 26, of 47 Ilang-Ilang St. Zone 6, Signal Village, Taguig City but temporarily resided at Sitio Ambulog, Barangay Manoc-Manoc, Boracay Island."

Rominnimbang admitted to the police that he and several other accomplices have already victimized scores of establishments in Boracay.
