10 Tweets That Prove We Need Grab and Uber in Life

Cab drivers don't make it easy for us.

(SPOT.ph) Grab and Uber, the two most used ride-sharing apps in the Metro, almost didn't make it after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board accreditation hearing on July 11. Much to the commuters' relief, they weren't suspended. They were instead slapped with a P5 million fine each for supposedly allowing some of their new drivers to operate even without certifications, which was put on hold by the government agency prior to the investigation.

The two transportation network companies confirmed that they will be paying their dues. "We thank the LTFRB for recognizing the important role ride-sharing plays in our country's transportation system," Uber said in a statement.
