With YouTube, there's no escape.
The backlash that followed Quezon City candidate for councilor Ara Mina's controversial answers in her In My Opinion interview with Mo Twister on January 12 died down for a couple of weeks since it was only shown on cable channel ANC and no video was available on the Internet. But when a video of the interview was uploaded on YouTube on February 3, the viral video became an instant hit. The video has been viewed 54,466 times with 243 mostly hostile comments as of February 8, 11:45 a.m.
Aside from saying she's for private armies, the sexy actress incurred loads of violent reactions when she said she was not following the news about the Maguindanao massacre because it's too depressing.
"Of course I want to know what's happening in our country. But napanood ko na 'yung ilang news, sobrang nade-depress ako… I always go out eh. Hindi ko afford lagi na manood ng news," she said. "Pero alam ko 'yung nangyari. Hindi ko lang alam 'yung details kasi mayroon din akong inaasikaso sa district ko."
When Mo asked if she was for or against the VFA, there was a long pause, after which Mo Twister volunteered "Visiting Forces Agreement" to explain the acronym, then she answered, "Umm… You? Parang gini-grill mo ako dito ha. (laughs)."
She also said she's against premarital sex after some giggling, even though she has had lovemaking scenes in several movies. "It's just a role...No, [it's not contradictory]. If you will notice kasi, 'yung mga R-18 hindi allowed 'yung ano so hindi nila napapanood."
Looking flustered and confused by most of the questions, she said she was against Charter Change with a questioning tone, as if taking a guess.
The independent candidate also said she's against the Anti-Pornography Bill, gay marriage ("I have lots of friends na gay, pero against"), and legalizing marijuana, and pro-Reproductive Health Bill.
After the interview, Mo Tweeted, "Oh my god, what a show. I feel like I want to collapse. As entertaining as that was, I feel terrible."
On February 3, Mo wrote in his blog, "The reason why I love Ara Mina is because at the end of the clip, she says she is against the Anti-Pornography Bill. That a girl! (That's sarcasm in case you didn't smell it)… Thank God I don't live in Quezon City."
"It's been a circus! Everywhere I go, the mall and stuff, people come up to me and just start laughing," he Tweeted on February 7.
Ara Mina's interview also spawned a Legally Blonde poster starring her instead of Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon).

Hahaha. Thanks for making me laugh, Ara.
