BM on Pilipinas Got Talent
As SPOT.ph blogger Lourd de Veyra put it, our local TV screens have become populated by a "smorgasbord of the genuine, the willing, and the desperate," all attempting to showcase their so-called talents to the world.
Over a month ago, cross-dressing performer Joel Amper, now notoriously known as BM (Big Mouth), bared his bizarre ability to mimic animal sounds on the Pilipinas Got Talent stage. During the March 7 episode, BM wowed judges Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai de las Alas, and Freddie Garcia with his impersonations of a monkey and a whistle bomb. But what stole the show was his original rendition of the popular Yano track "Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo."
He walked on stage donning a black number and a yellow frock and started singing the words. The audience boomed in excited laughs as BM did his iconic horse impersonation in the middle of the song's chorus.
BM on Attack of the Show
Youtube videos of the hilarious segment started spreading like wildfire over the succeeding weeks, giving it much international attention. So far, the clip has been featured in shows from Hong Kong and France. It was also in G4's Attack of the Show where hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn called BM the "Lady Gaga of Livestock" and the "Tranny Horse Whisperer."
BM on Jimmy Kimmel Live
Comedian Jimmy Kimmel also previewed the video on his live show and quipped, "He's able to achieve those sounds with a carefully placed carrot."
