Manila's Hottest Bods Race in Century Tuna Superbods Run

Published: Mar 1, 2010 - 3:38pm

Over 11,000 fitness enthusiasts joined the Century Tuna Superbods Run February 21 at the Bonifacio Global City, and among the more ogle-worthy were actors Derek Ramsay, Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, Maricar Reyes, Victor Basa, Jon Avila and Rafael Rosell; singer Karylle; TV hosts Marc Nelson, Rovilson Fernandez and Reema Chanco; and models Georgina Wilson and Brazilian-Japanese modelling sensation Daniel Matsunaga.

Hundreds of race finishers got the chance to join an onstage casting call to become the next Century Tuna image models and win a modeling contract and P100,000 cash prize. The Superbods Run also doubled as a fundraising event as proceeds of the raffle-for-a-cause were donated to the United Nations Children's Fund and the World Wildlife Fund.

Running is the next big fad. It's the new Badminton.

I've heard of people experiencing injuries and even death because they joined the bandwagon without proper training or warm up at the very least.

And the Earth Day Run, i hope you guys saw the TRASH they left behind. Sheer hypocrisy

When a guy does not shower prior to making out and immediately removes his undies, I can smell the TUNA from afar. I so love it.

Aside from my fixation for undies, the smell of the TUNA is an aromatherapy.

    I'm so flattered.

yan ang type ko... amoy tuna.

sarap kumain ng hilaw na tuna like sushi.

pero type ko rin ang tuna in oil. madulas sa bibig.

No hair pulling here please. Leave that to Vic Barba/Arcy and Rajo Laurel.

BTW, I love it when men run, sweat it out, and take off the shorts. Ohh, now, I can smell TUNA.

"…Piolo Pascual actually finished a sub-40 in a 10k at the Timex run which raised some eyebrows of some people who consider themselves ”purist” runners."

    he got a sub-50 in a 10km race, not a sub-40

From what I know SPOT.PH is more of a lifestyle website, so I don't see what's wrong with putting the faces of celebrities here. But you're right in a sense that in legitimate sports magazines/sites, more focus should be given to the real athletes.

Can't say much about Derek because he only ran 3K (but the press release said 10K). I have more respect for Piolo who did decent time for the 10K. And Iza's time on the 5K wasn't that bad.

    @PITY_THE_REAL_RUNNERS

...Hey dude, easy on the celebrities who's taking up running. They actually do help promote the sport which attracts newbies who wants to live a healthy and active lifestyle. Running becomes an alternative to those who spend most of their time glued to the internet whole day or spend the whole night at bars or clubs.

...Piolo Pascual actually finished a sub-40 in a 10k at the Timex run which raised some eyebrows of some people who consider themselves "purist" runners.
  • PITY_THE_REAL_RUNNERS Mar 02 2010 @ 02:35pm Report Abuse
this is a "race event," and should be featuring athletes such as "eduardo Buenavista" who just won 1st place in the 21k race event, not some bunch of fair skinned, 1st-time runner artistas who runs a 5k at more than 30 mins and shouts to the whole world "HEY I FINISHED A 5KM MARATHON!" (take note that a marathon is 42kms)

and talking about "sports" magazines, i can name at least 10 athletes who are better then who they feature, just happened to be that they're not maputi, maganda, sikat, or macho :P lam mo naman sa pinas, like showbiz, looks is more important than actual talent or skill

there will come a time that race event in the country will become a joke and will become a sport for the "ELITE" who runs races with complete "battle gear" with complete coverage from media but huffs and puffs at the 1st km. magazines will feature the Last placers instead of the WINNERS because they're just pretty and anak-ni-ganun, artista, kasi, too bad for REAL atheletes who trains everyday under the scorching sun =(

    PS
and to the mods, i dare you to approve this post

  • madz Mar 01 2010 @ 06:31pm Report Abuse
I saw Maricar and Iza's name on the race results, which means they ran. Didn't see Karylle's name, but from her picture, I think she did. Si Rhian naman, watergirl ba siya? Didn't find her name sa race results.

Makikita mo talaga sino ang naturally beautiful. Iza and Maricar still look very fresh, even after running.

Wow they were promoting tuna but they served lots of BEEFCAKE!
    I love you Derek!
