Manila's hottest models aged 16 to 48 cat(walk)fight in Olay's Age-Defying walk-off

Published: Apr 15, 2010 - 9:00am

Manila's hottest models aged 16 (Jackie Miller) to 48 (Izza Gonzales-Agana) from the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) engaged in a cat(walk)fight—“a fashion walk-off to launch the Olay Body Age Defying Moisture Bar. Held at Greenbelt 5, the fashion show featured veteran and younger models sashaying side by side down the runway in summer collections by Warehouse, Trucco, and Dorothy Perkins.

Sharing the runway were the country's top models of all ages Phoemela Baranda, Sanya Smith, Valerie de los Santos, Dindi de Leon, Joey Mead, Abbygale Arenas-de Leon, Izza Gonzales Agana, Lou Bunyi, Marina Benipayo, Grace Tagle, and Patty Betita.

Olay Ambassadors Daphne Oseña-Paez, Angel Aquino, and Miriam Quiambao also walked the runway, showing off radiant, youthful skin. "Think of comfort above everything else. If age is the only hindrance to wearing clothes that you want to wear, remember that age is just a number," shares Oseña-Paez, who held her own on the runway with Quiambao and Aquino.

@Tita Aida, It was really nasty and bad. I wrote to them already. If they don't reply soon, I'll post the pictures of the casualty on Facebook. In fact the manufacturer has a facebook fan page.

I'll post the pictures on my personal facebook page. We'll see?

Yes, more like Rico Hizon, not trying to be American nor British.

@ igeramos, with all sincerity, glad you are safe. I can smell a lawsuit in the next couple of days against that manufacturer.

I guess you are more of a Rico Hizon than a Veronica Pedrosa or Christianne Amanpour in the accent department. LOL

Batoush, a tax preparer, has been busy with his clients until the deadline last 15 April. He enjoyed watching "I love you Babes" last night to remove some stress. While I cannot speak for Batoush in the movie review department, Sam Milby has never attracted his attention until he watched this movie.

Batoush is definitly lovin' Milby's swagger in this movie. No, it is not because of Milby's collection of $9.95 on sale American Eagles and Hollisters. It is the improved abs. LOL LOL LOL

Oh by the way, where's Batoush?

    @Tita Aida

We cross posted. Yes, alive and kicking. No, I don't have a British accent because I learned my English in the Philippines. I'm proud to say that I don't have an American accent either. I have a neutral, "Al Jazeera" news delivery accent. No twangs, curlicues, and lilting valley girl or buffy the vampire slayer accent. I call it plain vanilla ice cream accent.

I'm lucky that I'm back home although the British Airways strike was a close shave. But I had an unfortunate incident this evening. Our oven exploded as I was pre-heating the grill while making fritata for dinner. I was lucky that I was on the other side of the kitchen, protected by the center island when it happened, otherwise, I'll be in the hospital with glass shrapnel on the lower part of my body. I took pictures and wrote the incident to the manufacturer.

If they don't do any concrete action, I'll report them here.

@ Tita Aida, Actually I swear by Shu Uemura cleansing oil, The original green one. It is designed for removing thick Kabuki make-up, grime, mud and stubborn dirt without using any abrasive substance. Since it is soap-free, it leaves no streak and residue.

@ igeramos, you are back, alive, kicking, and beautiful sans the British accent. Lovely? LOL

Let us just count our blessings. You are lucky you were not stranded in Europe because of the volcano eruption in Iceland.

@ igeramos, I am not an expert in beauty products but I think Shiseido was formulated with Asian skin in mind compared to other products. So far it works for me. LOL

As for Olay, maybe I'll start with their soap and dump my Neutrogena.

As for those women's looks, you may want to add that regular (weekly?) visit to a derm clinic.

Actually, I saw the fashion show at Greenbelt 5. In fairness, Daphne Oseña-Paez, Angel Aquino, and Miriam Quiambao looks really well. I think it's the combination of exercise, good wholesome food, psychological well being and stress-free lifestyle. What's ironic is the younger models are trying to look older and tougher. I think, I'll switch to Olay. As my favourite l'Orial vita-lift moisturizer is getting more and more expensive.

@Tita Aida I haven't changed. I'm still cynical and jaded. I sometimes comment in the political, news, tidbits. But that's about it.

I've always believed that people are free to express themselves no matter how good or bad their arguments are. They have the right to free speech.

The problem is, there is no critical analysis of the issue at hand. And if you comment critically on an issue and you don't agree with one person's comment they think you're attacking them personally. Or they don't answer at all. Like when they feature the 3 women authors, no body commented, except. Maybe people are no longer interested in reading because they're busy twitting.

There's no more spirit of argument or debate, if they can't handle the intellectual gymnastics, i.e. pikon, they resort to "take your sh*t somewhere else" or "who do you think you are... because we are (insert status here i.e poor, rich, gay, straight, pinoy, etc.)".

And worse, no sense of irony and sense of humor. That really kills me.

@Tita Aida, TLC from their daddies and a steady supply of a mature, yet fresh productive gamete of a male organism, specially from their sweet smelling daddies.

Actually, it's all in the genes. It's either you have it or you don't.
