The lowdown: After learning the ropes at Vidal Sassoon, Japanese hairstylist Shuji Kida opened his own salon and expanded to different branches in the United States and Asia. His quick, efficient hands have styled the locks of celebs like Jennifer Aniston. Kida visits Manila once or twice a year to service special clients, and when he isn't around, his team, headed by creative director Shigeki Ogaki, provides loyal clientele with the fashionable precision cuts and up-to-the-minute coloring that Kida is known for.
The verdict: Whether it's the ancient art of the Tea Ceremony or the traditional way of preparing sushi, the Japanese have a way with rituals. They are simple yet intricate, and that's what Shuji Kida Hair Salon is all about.

i consider chiyo's cut is the best. considering i have a wavy hair and gone through a lot of other creative directors frm diff salons.
if i can get all top 10 email addresses...help!.thanks!
Hairworks is my #1
how come toni n guy is not on the list?
Thanks so much for this wonderful article. Just a suggestion, I think it'd be great if you could come up with another Top 10 list that are more affordable - particularly for students who are on a budget. Kudos!
i don't get the satisfaction level ladies get when they show off the before/after shots of their haircut which cost them a whopping P1500. There's no difference!
@travelgirl- yup i can agree to that. sometimes the cheaper cut makes the "cut". I think it all boils down to the hairdresser not the salon.
ang pangit ng ugali ng owner ng univers kaizen salon sa MOA. Kahit m client pinapagalitan nya mga staff nya. DISGUESThing
Jude Hipolito is not a good man.
while searching for a really good attentive hairdresser i stumbled into this forum 1.omg..pls tell me what's wrong w the owner of phyto? he charges $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..haircut w him is ok..not wow...how'd ur haircut go w him? 2. chiyo sucks...bad attitude and cant really style hair..she just knows how to think out hair 3. i heard salon esa is pretty good and affordable..under 1k
correction #2 i mean THIN OUT HAIR
i want to try chiyo parang feel ko mag pa hair make over. worth it kaya? sir jmarc and harold of toni n guy are good. they've been cutting n coloring my hair for 2 yrs na. pero since they've known me much already, the usual safe style nalng lage.haaay hrap magpa beauty :P
leng, if you do, please let me know how it goes i feel she can only cut conservatively AND CAN BE MATARAY it's obscene how she raised her price a whopping 500 bucks to 1,700 from only 1,200 last year.
Pano mo na masasabi na pangit ang ugali ng owner ng univers kaizen salon. if theres a client and pinapagalitan niya ang staff niya for sure my maling ginawa yung staff niya. Jude Hipolito is a good mam. dont judge a person kung hindi mo siya nakakasama for a years isa pa you dont have the rights to judge any person na hindi mo kilala o nakakasama. One more thing walang personalan trabaho lang. Out of topic ka naman eh. ok lang sana kung my reklamo ang client sa result ng service na pinagawa niya o nila kaso wala naman eh.

This list should have been named the TOP 10 MOST EXPENSIVE SALONS IN MANILA. Thorough research next time para hindi mapahiya. ;)
my god kaizen salon shouldn't be on the list... hindi karapat dapat for the 3rd position.... ang alam lng ng may ari ng salon na yan ay maningil.. they dont consider the satisfaction their customers.. and that JUDE HIPOLITO???? Tama bang pagalitan ang mga employee kahit may client sa salon?????!!! your so UNPROFESSIONAL... Hindi ba tinuro sayo ang GOODMANNER AND RIGHTCONDUCT?!!
@badluckwithhair- i saw a blogger who juz had a haircut with chiyo, and naku parang walang pagbabago sa looks. she juz shorten it. the opinion of the blogger claims she was satisfied pero if u look at it, pinaiksian lang nya yung buhok nya. no styling. and the long 10mins shampoo is what she is raving about not the cut. hahhaha dpa din ako nagpapagupit..havign hesitations not because she's 1700 but if she's worth it.. :)
@valium- korek ka jan! it shud be top 10 most expensive salons.. come to think of it, ndi kaya biased ang reviews ng spot.ph sa mga to? nagtatanong lng po! hehhe
leng, please send me the posting of the blogger,,, i absolutely agree with the blogger i had my haircut out of the country,,,i had chiyo trim it as it was uneven,,sure she did it..it looked nice...ONLY BEC SHE TRIMMED IT AND MADE IT A BIT BETTER..if u looked at it..it's the same but just made BETTER but to style it? I DONT THINK SO months later i go back..she absolutely refuse to layer it..saying layer is OUT!!!!!!!! (DONT THINK SO) long story short she butchered my hair so i had to go elsewhere to get it fixed so ya...she can only cut hair in a very conservative style..she can trim...tha'ts about it she cannot give you a new do or let alone LAYER! TRUST ME if u end up trying her..let me know i've paid $$$$$ abroad,,,,and it all boils down to the stylist...not how much you pay im going to try louis kee in a few months..will let you guys know how it goes
