Go for: Haircuts by salon manager Shin, P600

Why We Liked It: Shin can shape your strands and give you a cut that suits your face shape and personality. If you want something a bit more edgy and Korean pop-ish, he'll willingly oblige and pull it off with pizzazz. But, if you want something more conservative and easy-to-maintain, he can also take your locks to the next level of gorgeous–as if you had a mini makeover.

What Else To Try: Gals who want straight hair can try their version of rebonding called the Magic Perm, which starts at P3,000. But, be willing to listen to Shin's urging if he says a perm will suit your hair and look better on you. For those with dry, damaged hair, try the Clinic Perm, P1,900 for medium-length strands, which starts with a treatment followed by a traditional perm.

Park Jun is one place you don't want to go to.
I've been going there for 5 months now and finally, I've decided to severe my relationship. The last two times, my simple hairstyle was done so badly and masked so beautifully, I had to go back and get it redone. What a royal waste of time. They've lost my favour for sure...off my recommendation list!

I had my medium length hair treated at Park Jun's 3 months ago. The procedure they used was Volume Magic wave and it cost around P8,000 (digital perm + rebonding of the roots). I love it and the outcome was really great. Until now, the curls still look great.

I went to Be@utybrick first for a cut. Shin-san saw me eyeing a certain look in their Japanese hairstyle lookbook, so he did a LOT of layers, lightening my thick long hair, and he finished it up by curling my hair.

The hair looked pretty young and light even though it was straight the next day. But my sister, who saw the setting the day before, told me she thought it looked too plain. So I phoned them to set an appointment and got my hair permed that afternoon. And I must say, I love it!!!

The perm he decided for me was loose natural-looking curls, so he told me that i didn't have to maintain the perm that much. Ahluvet!!!

For digiperm, try H salon at Glorietta. Look for Ms. Rachel and ask her to use Silis from Italy. Rachel does an amazing job!

How much usually a digiperm is?

I wanted my hair to be permed since my natural waves are showing off already..

I got my hair digitally permed at Be@utybrick about a month ago and I love it! Mr. Shin did such an amazing job! He is such a perfectionist, analyzing your facial structure first, before doing anything to your hair. His assistants were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, providing me (I'm very makulit when it comes to my hair)with all the information I needed to take care of my digitally permed hair. I went to Be@utybrick again yesterday to have my roots re-touched. As usual, they did a great job! I recommend Be@utybrick to everyone and anyone who needs their hair done. For someone who has gone to so many different salons, ranging from cheap to expensive, I'm glad I finally found THE salon. Thank you, Mr. Shin! I'll be back soon! :)

well from my experience, digital perms last longer for me, my expensive cold perm from a certain snooty salon lasted no more than 6 mos before turning unruly and my digiperm frm a korean salon which i got nov2008 is still around and i now have long wavy hair!!!
  • dayowsh Jan 31 2010 @ 04:52pm Report Abuse
i think digiperm is too expensive...it only lasts for six months...

I just came from there 3 days ago and although it takes a long time to finish rebonding my medium length hair and what with all the other interruptions, the wait is worth it. They also have a lot of rituals which i think really makes the hair stay rebonded for a year based on the assistant which got her hair rebonded there and it still looked great. I even got a free hair treatment for my hair to use at home. You can also avail of their membership which is free. they get 10% or 20% of your service price then you can use that as discount for your next visit or you can accumulate those "rewards" until you can get a free treatment or whatever it is you want. On your birthday they get 50% reward to add up to ur account so to speak. :) The trip to makati and the traffic is worth it!

i hope ms.anchel can show pictures of her clinic permed hair.

i'd like to correct you dear, digital perm does not last longer than traditional (cold) perm. it's the other way around.

digi perm usually lasts around 4-6 months, then you need a retouch, wherein a traditional (cold) perm will last more than a year.

another difference is, digiperm is for medium to big sized curls, while a trad perm is for small to medium sizes.

Just got a haircut at T&J this afternoon. Stylist is Anna. All I can say is 'WOW'. She definitely delivered the cut that she promised.

Salon is classy and comfortable. Price is reasonable at 300, and the nice thing about this salon is that the stylists are professional. They do not wait for you in the reception for any tips. Actually, seems that they are not too keen to receive any. But still, you should give at least 100 to show your appreciation for a nice haircut.

For digital perms go to You Salon. Mr. YS will totally give you those big sexy curls. His hair cuts are great, even when they grow out. He cuts your bangs is such a way that you can part it to the left or right and it still looks great. Kinda pricey but worth it.

For rebonding go to Tony and Jackey. They have promos where you can choose from Loreal or Korean products

I definitely recommend Beauty Brick hair art salon. Mr. Shin did a really excellent job with perming my do. It's been a month since I had my clinic perm, but my hair is getting even better. This creative hairstylist even taught me styling tips. He still sends me text messages to check on my hair. Really great service!

I would recommend going to Piandre and get a haircut from the Creative Director - Drea. She's brilliant and can transform your look!

Thanks, Nicole, for this great article!

I'm a huge fan of Japanese and Korean styles since they look super hip. Thinking that such cuts would (in theory) go well with my chinita features, I decided to go to a Korean salon a few months back. Not long after, though, I decided to try other 'regular' salons. The stylists didn't try anything new after my first cut, and my hair was becoming harder to maintain as it grew longer.

I tried googling other salons (such as Park Jun's), but didn't have much luck. But thanks to your article, I might just check them out.
