So Stoked: Skullcandy headphones at Republ1c

Jeff Cape | Published: Nov 26, 2009 - 11:28am

skullcandyThe perfect gift for teens this Christmas—“Skullcandy Skullcrushers and Skullcandy Tokidoki Ti Stereo Headphones. (Have you seen a teenager who doesn't have earphones permanently stuck to his or her ears?)

Aside from the promise of thunderous bass, these headphones sport slick paint jobs with badass visuals splattered all over the hardware. Aesthetically appealing, Skullcandy is the brand of headphones that represent the skateboarding culture, perfect for the daily music grind.

Check out these headphones in the legit skate and street store, Republ1c. Their newly opened store in Westgate Alabang hosts lines of graphic tees, tapered jeans, hoodies and skate shoes, among others. Everything you need to complete that "skurban" lifestyle.

    "Bose" headphones pa rin para sa akin kung quality ang pag-uusapan. Obvious kasi na pang-porma lang ang "Skullcandy."rnrnParang design kasi ang babayaran mo sa Skullcandy, not the quality and durability. If you're the type of person who just wants to look cool, then Skullcandy is definitely recommended for you!

    Even the fake mix style headphones at Comic Alley are better, at this point. Bought a pair for 400, it's lasted me well over a year (even though I jog everyday). And even if it breaks, at least I'll know that I didn't spend a load of money on it, unlike Skullcandy.

    One year later and they still haven't called. I suppose they simply threw my headphones in the trash, not even bothering to repair them. I just didn't bother to go back there anymore because the repairs are honestly not worth paying for, coupled with bad customer service. Very unprofessional of Mac, I tell you. I've decided not to buy Skullcandy headphones ever again. After relaying my story to various people, turns out they too have also had their headphones suddenly break after a few months. Talk about cheap.

    I warn everyone to stay away from Skullcandy products. Bought a pair of headphones myself because I looked up the brand and it prided itself on being the perfect headphones for extreme sports (!). I used it while jogging.rnrnWhen I was walking in school one day, around two months after I bought them, they just snapped in half -- just like that. The pieces literally just toppled from my head.rnrnI quickly went to the Apple store I purchased them from. If I couldn't get a refund, then I at least wanted them to be repaired. Naturally, Apple said it's most likely my fault (the usual) but they agreed to take it in and repair it. I left the headphones and they gave me a receipt.rnrn

    @sound junkie

    Because many can't afford skull candy. It's so expensive and so over-rated. But it look so good, that I agree with.
