Fashion brand Havaianas gives you and three of your friends a chance to jet-set to Brazil on a 12-day all-expense paid trip, complete with travel essentials from Havaianas, Sony, David and Goliath, and Aloha Board Sports.

Havaianas kicks off their newest Happy Soles campaign with a creative contest dubbed "Happy Soles Will Travel to Brazil." A creative one-minute video answering the question, "If anything was possible, what would you do to make the world happy for a day?" may take you and your three friends to Brazil.

"Havaianas has always had the privilege of being with Filipinos during their happiest moments at the beach, in malls, at home, practically everywhere. We wanted to create the happiest possible experience through this unique, luxury vacation to Brazil," shares Anne Gonzalez, Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines.

The winner will also receive $1,000 for a shopping spree to the Havaianas Concept store, a Sony HandyCam camcorder, a Sony Vaio laptop and a Sony Walkman mp3 player. The winner, along with three friends, will stay in chic, boutique hotels, dine at world-class restaurants, and visit Oscar Freire Street,   home to Brazil's fanciest boutiques. A visit to Daslu, a super luxurious shopping mecca is also on the agenda.

A trip to Corcovado Mountain is also on the itinerary, where they will see the Brazilian icon, Christ the Redeemer. Other experiences on the list include seeing the football frenzy at Morumbi and Maracana, a visit to the breath-taking tropical landscape of UNESCO site Jardim Botanico, and beach trips to popular destinations like Copacabana.

Video entries may be recorded at the Havaianas roving booths that will be in key malls nationwide. Entries may also be e-mailed to Havaianas at happysoles@havaianasphilippines.com or uploaded on the campaign website. Ten entries will be shortlisted by a panel of judges, including Preview magazine editor-in-chief Pauline Suaco-Juan, blogger Anton Diaz, Capoeria guru Professor Fantasma and Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines Anne Gonzalez. The shortlisted videos will be posted on the campaign website for public voting from May 6 to 27.

Havaianas is popular here in Australia, even little kids have them in all styles and colours.

Tama lang si t3mbz dahil ang summer dito ay napakainit parang Pilipinas na rin minus the humidity...so lahat naka tsinelas na Havaianas. Comfort is mainly the footwear of choice here though, hindi brand conscious ang mga Aussie.

    Like HELLO...

Tell me, where do Euroopean brands sell? Where is the biggest market for European brands? Why did some European brands file for bankruptcy when the US market collapsed?

    Check your facts.

Who cares if they're not popular in the US. The US is not rest of the world. People there don't know European brands!

Havaianas are awesome slippers it's made of pure rubber and is a national product of Brazil. It's popular in L.A. You may think it's just an ordinary slippers but it has a very interesting history which makes it special.

Not because it is worn by celebs, it is popular to everyone! These celebs are paid hacks - think Oscar's with all the goodies.

I haven't seen anybody at Berkeley wear Havaianas. There is not even a store nor a cart.

Tim Gunn, who cares about celebs anyway. They are the kings and queens of tackiness. Last time I checked, this was not taught at Parson's.

I agree with the rest of the gang. Havaianas is nothing outside of the Philippines. There is no mass appeal especially in the U.S.

Tim, I grew up in the United States. I will never replace my MiuMiu with the most expensive Havaianas.

It is just like saying that this celeb and that celeb owns a Coach bag and it is time for me to dump my Proenza Schoeler PS1? No way!

I don't know about other countries, but I don't think a lot of people in the US are into Havaianas that much. In fact, wala pa akong nakikitang Havaianas store dito. I don't see them being sold in the malls, either.
I work in a university, so I'm around college students everyday. It's winter now, so nobody's wearing flip flops, but I haven't seen that many students wearing Havaianas last summer. Of course, I wasn't looking down at their feet so I don't know for sure.
I agree with MiuMiu. Havaianas is not really the first thing on one's mind when you say flip flops. Not here in my part of the US, anyway.

Have you been outside the Philippines?

These Hollywood celebs are all wearing them:

Project Runway judge Nina Garcia even included Havaianas in her book,
"The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own"

No offense meant. Bakit nag click ang Havaianas sa Philippine market? Bata, matanda, bakla, tomboy, lalaki, babae, mayaman, at mahirap - lahat owns at least one pair of this footwear.

Ang Havaianas ay hindi pinapansin outside the Philippines. In fact, tsinelas ko lang yan sa banyo.
