Commuting in Manila can be a real pain, especially when you have to deal with crowded MRT trains, hours of slow-moving traffic, and that extra chatty seatmate on the bus. This Christmas, give commuters (or yourself) any of these essentials for the urban jungle: amusing distractions to pass the time, crafty self-defense tools against the dreaded bag-snatcher, or stealthy gadget-keepers for your valuables. Click the gallery above to see SPOT.ph's gift guide.

@ironicallyspeakingrnrnIf your gonna use pen+knife to just stab your better off using an ordinary pen which only cost P5-P20 and mall swiss knives which cost below P200.rnrnGadget sleeve seems ok until you realize that most holdups take all your belongings based on experience. Aside from the painful pricetag you have to pay.rnrnMost of them are quite impractical and expensive for commuter gifts.

these are quite expensive and i agree with what the others are saying that these will just attract snatchers and hold-uppers. also, you should have included pepper sprays. it's more affordable and a must for every commuter (rather than the pen with the pointed tip on the other end).

um did half of the people who commented actually checked out the list before making half-assed judgments based on the picture alone?rnrnthe macbook for one isn't part of the list, the deceptively vintage book cover laptop sleeve is. and a waterproof envelope lookalike mini-gadget sleeve to keep your ipod nano from prying eyes.rnrnand there's also a pen + knife combo there, so you have the chance to gouge out your petty crook's eyes out. rnrnmy only problem is yeah, echoing the sentiments of those above, most of the items here aren't really budget-friendly. that pen + knife combo is worth php 3,000 -5,000 alone. pretty nifty idea, but let's face it, who's going to gift a pen worth that amount? rn

What I need is a Laser gun that zapz people to another universe evertime they cut lines at the mrt, enter the train before letting people get off, walk like zombies, scratch their crotch, pick their nose, sneeze in mid air or in their hands, stand in the middle of the escalator and prevent people from passing by, stop right after they get off an escalator... you get the pointrnrncan i buy something like this in the philippines?

Yep theyre eye candy, which also means most of these items are gonna be eye candy for bag snatchers/holdapers/etc. as well and to quote "amusing distractions to pass the time, crafty self-defense tools against the dreaded bag-snatcher, or stealthy gadget-keepers for your valuables" so where's the sense in that?rnrnBesides that masyado na overpriced most of the items here. That's not even practical unless your rich.

Oo may functionality pero takaw-attention naman! kakaloka! bringing these things to the streets is like spraying blood on a tank full of sharks!

This list actually makes a lot of sense. The write-up of each product featured here very well justifies why they're perfect for the metro commuter.rnrnI realized the grammatical horror of my first post.

most of these are not practical, your more of a fodder for snatchers than ever before. Besides that its just too expensive for my budget.
