Supporters of film director Carlo J. Caparas held a rally this morning at the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Building, reports pep.ph.
Braving the rain, the supporters carried signs, one of which reading "Weather weather lang yan, si Direk pa din ang # 1." Carlo J. Caparas with his wife Donna Villa also called a press conference this morning to air their views on the protests against his selection as a National Artist as announced by Malacanang.
In a gmanews interview, Carlo J. Caparas said, "Kaya ko i-represent ang binibigay sa aking karangalan bilang pambansang alagad ng sining."

A rally, led by prominent artists is also scheduled this afternoon at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Ramp where symbolic necrological services are to be held for the "death of the National Artist Awards."
